Clarification!! Poping has nothing to do with Breaking, and is loosely related to locking. Locking is another dance style, look it up. Poping has roots in funk music, and is now merged with hip hop. We get so tight about the terminology because we practice hard to learn this shit just to have somone come along and fuck it up.

Every dance is technical. If you're a pro at any dance there's deep technique to it. You've moved beyond the basics. I bboy, but I am a popper first, I've been poppin for 6 years. I'll take poppin over breakin any day. My point was, a year ago and still is, that new cats are coming onto the scene and they have no clue how to pop. No hits, no style, just shit they see on TV. If people want to preserve the style they need to learn up on it. I get upset cause I hear it and see it all the time.
