  • anytime i get bummed i just put on sum premier and im reminded that this hip hop shit is so much bigger than my bullshit day to day drama. thank u premier!!!!

  • guess what this is good

  • Comment removed

  • Top 5 in one? How y'all get that 2 happen? That was nice. Now I'm hungry 4 more.

  • DJ Premier is HipHop's Mozart

  • Everyone saying Kanye shouldn't of been on this with these legendary rappers.

Check it out, Kanye's first album The College Dropout was a hip-hop Classic.

And he's not a Hip-Hop legend, but he is one in the making.

That's why he's on here. And he held it down and made a sick hook too.

  • a classic is when you stop the beat to hear the dopest punchline so fuck off kanye, no disrespect krs

  • better than his niggas in paris verse

  • 144 definetly retarded

  • this is hip hop, grafitti, baggys, REAL lyrics, DJ Premier-Beat, bunch of niggas in the hood...

not this hip pop shit today with wack lyrics, autotune, tight ass pants, fashion fags in the club... oh my fuckin god somebody kill David Guetta, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida and all these gays AT ONCE

Where are my gangstas at? Lets do it! *plays 'M.O.P. ft. CNN - Stomp The Shit Out Ya' while we do this*

  • @YoungViz You make a good argument until you digress to homophobia. Then you sound like an idiot. I wonder what you'd think about my lyrics...

Anyway, my favorite line is Rakim's..."Timeless, so age don't count in the booth, when your flow stays submerged in the fountain of youth."

  • Someone know where the hell I can buy this, its not on iTunes Australia.

  • Sick Ass Beat, That Sample Sounds Like It's From "Timothy Wilson - Baby Baby Please" Put It Down I Never Looked Into The Sample, I Just Listen To A Gang Of Oldies When I'm Blown Along With J-Dilla, 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, Fly Lo, DJ Premier & DJ Quik LoL

  • Common Sense shoulda been put on.

  • Personally my favorite is NaS and is it me or does rakim look like an older Layzie Bone?

  • /watch?v=mnl7Q_IBXbw&NR=1&feature=endscreen

they cut out that wack-ass kayne lmao. sounds much better

  • it is time people give kanye a CHANCE.. he is the best rapper alive,,,,

  • This is classic hip hop now a days in drake lil Wayne etc just plain garbage rap I miss the good old days of hip hop..

  • plus breaking

  • this video shows 3 out of the 5 elements of hip hop

    Mc

    graffiti

    dj

  • @str872 it got some knowledge in there too man

  • @str872 i see what you did there XD

  • It's sick that Kanye's on this, but the rest make him sound like a 3 year-old

  • hiphop is awesome

  • what a weird blend

  • Thinking im gonna paint a prodigy like this up in canada. Gotta represent classic hiphop worldwide.

  • Rakim would make an epic pirate captain...

I can't be the only one who thinks that.

  • the fucks kanye doing there]

  • Kanye West has sold 15,000,000 in under 10 years. He is also one of the greatest Hip Hop producers of all time creating the most iconic instrumentals. He is one of only about 7 or 8 rappers who are sincere in todays rap game. I would definately put him in the ''Classic'' catagory.

  • Hey who can blame Kanye for having such a huge ego. He made a song with essentially the lords of hip hop. It's like having a game of street basketball with your friends and you got Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Jordan on your team. Of course your going to start thinking your one of the best players, and hell if you can get a team like that I'd say your not completely mad to believe it.

  • i don't have a thumbs on my comment

    you know why?

    i don't need them,i got your respect

  • i never thought that hip hop heads were close minded

  • i wish i could make beats like this this truly a classic at work

  • DJ Premier---->the greatest hip hop producer ever

    Rakim----->the god MC

    Nas---->Lyrical genius

KRS-one---->the most inteligent MC everrrr !

kanye west------>well idk about this one :PP

  • @MrBeno12 Actually if you ask me Kanye is better than most mainstream artists today.

  • @DBZUltimateGohan well its true but if we talk about masters,he aint on their level,he made a good hook on this shit but his verse aint on the same level, plus till 2007-2008 kanye was a real artist now he is making some crap music, hip hop is dead thats why they arent the same anymore, they all changed

  • @MrBeno12 Yeah I hear ya. But, I never said he was a master. But, I do believe he is better than a lot of mainstream artists like Wayne, Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Drake. But, that's just my opinion.

  • @DBZUltimateGohan i got what u mean,i respect ur opinion and i think the same too, there are only a few rappers that are keeping it real like game, nas, immortal technique, ice cube, young artist like j cole, hopsin, kendrick lamar, lupe fiasco etc etc :D

  • @MrBeno12 Yeah dude those guys are the sh!t. But, quick question, what happened to 50 cent?

  • @DBZUltimateGohan idk man, back in the day he used to be a good rapper but he fucked up his shit,in fact he was never a good artist,i never liked him,i liked only the beatz that good producers like dre used to produce 4 him,he was a faker, and now its more an actor, making bullshit in music industry etc the same i can say about eminem and snoop dogg maybe jay z etc

  • @MrBeno12 Yeah I hear ya. But there ain't many good artists still rappin today. I mean, Eminem makes good songs occasionaly but definetely not as good as he used to be. Money has fully taken over the music industry. Nobody cares about lyrics anymore. Hell, if I want good beats I listen to techno music. Nas was kinda right if you ask me when he said Hip Hop is dead cause it is slowly dying. If you ask me, they should've put Common in here instead of Kanye.

  • @DBZUltimateGohan eminem nowdays sincerly sucks,i am tellin u cuz,i am a big fan of eminem since infinite till The re-up,his new material aint shit b4 his old days, and tellin for sure,4 me,hip hop is in a death or life situation, nas was right in some points but not definitly dead,it still can be brought back to life if we give more support to real artist and new talents and nothing for mainstream rappers, and yeah i forgot common,he is a legend man,i still listen to his shit those days :D

  • @MrBeno12 Yeah but again, that's the music industry for ya. Not many people care about lyrics anymore. Sad isn't it. But, Not Afraid and Beautiful are pretty good songs if you ask me.

  • @DBZUltimateGohan yea they are good songs but they dont have good beats, thats why they arent perfect plus eminem is putting more emotion in his lyrics than b4

  • @MrBeno12 Well, it's hard to be emotional and have really good beats too ya know. But, on a side note, does Nas look kinda depressed in this song? I mean, he doesn't sound that into it.

  • @DBZUltimateGohan nas aint the kind of rapper who put his emotions on a song like eminem,he goes kinda hard on his songs, thats the way he does it,and for me he is one of the best rappers alive

  • @MrBeno12 Yeah but on a lot of songs Nas seems to be more energetic than he seemed in this song. I mean, to me he looked like he didn't even wanna be doing this song. I mean, he's one of my favs but, I think he could've done a lot better here. Not really feelin it.

  • @DBZUltimateGohan well thats ur opinion man but u ant judge an artist just by one song,he has been killin shit since 94',and he made a good apparence on the classic track,i know that he didnt gave his 100% but he is a lot better in this thing still, than most of mainstream rappers 2day,plus this was just a simple song with a beat that premo created 4 some classuc artist to spit in,nas just did his job ! :D

  • @MrBeno12 honestly, they should've subbed in royce da 59 for kanye's part

  • @youngb1ood yeah good one but if u ask me i would put there another veteran instead of kanye, someone like kool g rap or prodigy of mobb deep, big daddy kane or redman nor method man, gza, raekwon, maaaan there are a lot of alternatives ya know

  • Damn everyone on this song was pure awesome! But, if you ask me, KRS said the most dopest inspirational lines. "I got no jewels on my neck. Why? I don't need em, I got yo respect." Probably my favorite line cause there are guys like Wayne or Soulja Boy who just flash their fancy chains everywhere thinking it makes them look cool and people will like them and think they're gansters. But KRS, he knows that you will earn respect if people like your music, not the bling you wear.

  • A collection of timeless classics all on one track. Thats the definition of Illmatic

  • @Lassebb Yo C'mon, Nas is Hip Hop All Day, the only POP Joints he did was "Hate Me Now", "Oochei Wally" & "Hero" thats it, everything else was all Hip Hop, His New album is gonna be All Real Hip Hop, better yet he's also got an Album coming after that with DJ Premier AKA Premo AKA The Greatest Hip Hop Producer of All Time, Peace

  • i feel like Nas could've gone harder

  • I wish there were more of the collabs in the last few years.. but maybe, the few there are, are so rare, that they're instant classics. Yeh keep it that way!

  • 240p we meet again

  • pretty evident that kanye can careless if you dont like him....that nigga got respect from the best in the game. i doubt any of them mind him being the face of hip hop for years to come

  • DJ Premier is the KING of beats hands down.

  • @kRoniKBuD6030 but of course my dude. was there ever any doubt?

  • @kRoniKBuD6030 Dilla?

  • @kRoniKBuD6030 Dilla, pete rose, 9th wonder

  • Dr Dre?

  • 240p, we meet again

  • all of these mc's are great imo

  • this song is Timeless

  • This is one of the best if not the best song I have ever heard.

  • I can what you guys are saying about the difference in each artist and that Kanye isn't nearly as good as Rakim and Nas. In my opinion, Rakim and Nas are MUCH better rappers then Kanye, their skill on the mic and in their lyrics is undoubtebly better then Kanye's. However, Kanye's influence on popular music the past 10 years makes him a legend in his own right. He won a grammy before anyone even knew who he was for his work producing H to the Izzo.

  • Nas is the greatest and Rakim is #2 in my opinion

  • I see, OmarwanM, you dont even notice the value of 'em lyrically so just stfu and go listen to kanye and david guetta and so on. Keep it mainstream if you cant handle real hip hop.

  • @DannyBoy445593 Now you're talking! That would be so sick. Das Efx or Guru (God rest his soul) would have fit well too. Even Common or Mos Def. I love Premier and KRS. It's just a lil obvious that someone bought their way onto this track. Not gonna name names since kids think he's the shit apparently. If only they knew the power of BDP...

  • Say what you want about Kanye's verse, the hook wouldn't be as good without him.

  • @GamingBender not true

  • @GamingBender In all honesty my man Kanye`s verse was pretty good.

  • @901flaminskull he got helped :)

  • @901flaminskull In all honesty keezy's a legend on the hip hop scene

  • "How many of y'all got Criminal Minded? You, you, you?" Damn KRS-one is the shit. All Godfathers of hip-hop. They shoulda dropped Kanye and got the Gza though. Would be a Brooklyn's finest reunion and truly Classic.

  • @that1honkydrew I think you are right. However, I always thought Kool G Rap should have been put on instead of Kanye, just my opinion though... Kool G Rap or GZA!!!

  • Kanye is a great producer though

  • Trillosopher, u looking at it all wrong. Those legends are a generation before Kanye. So there's no point of comparing the last ten years because they were recessing out of their prime while Kanye is climaxing. U gotta compare their music while in their prime. And in that case nas and rakim win hands down, it's just better lyricism, flow, and portrays morefulfilling messages. Plus they painted pictures through their lyrics very profoundly. But right now, nas is still the better mc. However Kan

  • KANYE KILLED IT yall jus dnt kno lyrics "What do it take to be a legend like Nas is?

That's so novice, I'm so polished, I got a right to be a little bit snobbish

I did a little bit of college, semesters it took 2 like Rob Base

To let me figure out this wasn't my place, the beat slowed til' you listened to my pace "

  • i think kanye was good in this, everybody hate on him 'cuz of his worse songs

  • omg...

  • Add Biggie and Big L this would be my dream team! Beautiful stuff. Nas is the GOAT!

  • kanye jode la cancion la verda mi me gusta mucho

pero kanye no pinta nada ai

  • check out my channel theres a perfect remix of this song and a way better , really i promise!

  • Nas is the greatest rapper ever, then Rakim and KRS, Kanye is the best whos actually doing it BIG TODAY.. Hes the new version of the old school.. Dont hate on anything on a Premier beat. Nuff said

  • CLASSIC!!

  • People seem to be hating on Kanye. It's funny because critics give him better reviews than any of the other rappers get, and he's more successful than they are meaning most people like him more. To be fair, commercial success means nothing now but critical acclaim is still important, and Kanye is actually better than any other rapper in terms of that. However, the other rappers are awesome, too, and hating on other rappers is stupid. However, "old school listeners" seem to hate the most, sadly.

  • @roflplaneable If you think Kanye is more critically celebrated than Ra of Krs, then you have no idea what you are talking about. Kanye is awsome, but go do some research before you make rediculous statements, Its like comparing Drew Brees to Joe Montana man...

  • @DannyBoy445593 ...have you seen Brees play lately? I mean 5,400 yards AND he broke his own completion percentage record. I'm not discounting Montana...but Brees lives on the same block as him, so to speak.

  • @DannyBoy445593 Let me break this down for you I'll give you metacritic scores (tallies critics scores) College Dropout-87 Late Registration-85 Graduation-79 808s and Heartbreak-75 MBDTF-94 Rakim and KRS have one album each that is on metacritics but... The Seventh Seal-59 Sneak Attack-69 To be fair, those two are not either of those rappers' most acclaimed albums, but a GLANCE at wiki's summary of major reviews for their albums shows that neither come CLOSE to Kanye's critical acclaim
  • @roflplaneable Hey man we are all entitled to our own opinion, BUT... Krs and Rakim are undoubtably more critically acclaimed. Rakims and Krs's origional records were dropped under the names Erik B. and Rakim and Boogie Down Productions, respectivly. Paid in Full and Criminal Minded are both considered Masterpieces of Golden Age Hip Hop and FFFAAARRR more acclaimed than anything Kanye did. Im not talking shit, this is a fact. Please go wiki eother of those albums and compare the reviews to Kans.

  • @DannyBoy445593 And also, I dont understand why you would list those two albums... It is almost common knowledge that Seventh Seal is the least celebrated of Ra's work. Furthermore, I just wiki'd al these albums out of curiosity of how they ranked, and Paid in Full and Criminal Minded blow college Dropout out of the water critically. Not to mention ILLMATIC, please my friend, do not tell me you thing that ANYTHING Kanye dropped is more acclaimed than Illmatic!!!

  • Rakim and KRS are nobodies. Kanye > Them. I like Nas doe.

  • @Trillosopher you're obviously one of those 12 year olds who look for good rap on MTV...

  • @OmarwanM True dat but kanye got some dope tracks and know how to change with The game not sure about nas havent heard any good songs from him in a while tho.

But krs and rakim are fuckin legends so stop trolling tillosopher

  • @TranceSo1dier ain't nobody trollin bruh

  • @OmarwanM nice try bro. but i'm almost 20. sure, kanye isn't the best lyrically, but he makes great music and that's all that matters. Kanye's last solo album (My beautiful dark twisted fantasy) is better than anything Rakim and Nas have put out in the past 10 years.

  • @Trillosopher ever heared of illmatic stupid fuck?

  • @Trillosopher ever heard of illmatic stupid f*ck?

  • @kofirinkeby stillmatic?

  • @kofirinkeby he said last 10 years bruh

  • @kofirinkeby Lmao... who HASN'T heard of Illmatic? and like MrIDoCoke pointed out, I'm talking about the last 10 years.. Illmatic came out almost 20 ago. But be real now, neither Nas (even though I do like him) KRS nor Rakim have released any album as good as Kanye's latest solo release in the past decade. Sure.. they're technically better rappers. But rapping better doesn't mean you make better music.

  • @Trillosopher Good, now take your pop-music elsewere and don't come back untill you know what's REAL hip-hop is all about. Rakim and KRS-One has dropped better verses than mainly all other rappers put together. Nas was dope back in the days, but he cracked for the dollar. Same as Kanye, but Kanye never were a true hip-hop artist, mostly pop-music. So STFU!

  • @Lassebb "real" hip-hop is such an idiotic term. hating on more popular rappers and calling them "fake" is played out as fuck, bro. and having a better verse doesn't necessarily make you the better artist. that's ignorant to even assume.

  • @Trillosopher Most of the popular rappers become famous for the wrong reasons, they make music for people who listens to popmusic, for the popcharts, for the paycheck. It has got nothing to do with hip-hop what so ever. Just look at the people who come to their concerts. 90 procent doesnt like hip-hop at all. Oh, if you call Kanye, Will Smith, Lil Wayne, Tyga, Drake, Mac Miller etc, hip-hop, then you really dont know what it is. All named above is popmusic. Period.

  • @Trillosopher sorry but i can't agree, everything Nas made in last 10 years is better than kanye

  • @WyQinac nas has only released 4 albums in the past decade. and you're going to say they're all better than kanye's classics that he's released in the last 8? college dropout, late registration and my beautiful dark twisted fantasy >> nas' most recent albums. sorry bro.

  • @Trillosopher You are entitle to your opinion, but the way you say 10 years, it is almost common knowledge that their best albums were dropped in the 80's for Rakim and the early 90'2 for Nas. Illmatic, It Was Written, Paid in Full and Follow the Leader are far superior to Kanye's albums. Even Stillmatic is just as good as College Dropout in my humble opnion...

  • @Trillosopher I totally agree with what you say, but that Kanye's Mbdtf is better than anything rakimpast 10 years is a big statement

  • @Trillosopher

really? you gotta be a stupid motherfucker to put kanye over nas and rakim. you check the history

  • @Trillosopher no, nas would fuckin rip up kanye west, there both good, but hes better

  • @Trillosopher Rakim changed the face of hip hop/rap in general. kanye, did not. not that my opinion holds any credibility in the hip hop/rap world, but nas and rakim shit on kanye. i do not feel the need to explain any further.

  • @Trillosopher lol.. if u think that u wack..

  • @Trillosopher WHAT ?!

  • @Trillosopher no its not Id even say that was kanye's worst album

  • I wish Guru rap in this song too

  • I'm sorry but Kanye has nothing.....NOTHING (!!!!!!) on Rakim and KRS-ONE or Nas not to mention fu**in DJ Premier! At least those guys can act like REAL men and not make an ass of themselves by whining about not winning awards. Sh*t those guys don't even get nominated yet they are 10 times better than Kanye. Maybe if he acted like he dressed, CLASSY, then I'd give him more props. Until then he;s just a PUNK next to these kats!

  • The recording studio had to have exploded because these are some of the best artists. Three lyrical geniuses and an aight rapper(kanye) and premiere that makes some of the best beats

  • @BigBDizzle your stupid.

  • @BigBDizzle Rap, maybe. But MC around'em, never.

  • facebook.com/pages/Proud-to-be-a-Hip-Hop-Fan/246487708755485?sk=wall

  • They should of put Kane instead of Kanye, that would of been Classic, KRS, Rakim, Kane and Nas.

  • All you guys hating on Kanye are fucking dumb, kanye would rap circles around these fossils

  • @BigBDizzle even kanye himself thinks thats fucking stupid.

  • Comment removed

  • @BigBDizzle you're not even worth half a fuck... or an insult for that matter...

  • Kanye West: You can't buy this/Flyness

    KRS-One: i got no jewels on my neck/ why i don't need em/ i got your respect

    Kanye West: Sellout

    KRS-One: true artist

  • KANYEEEZY

  • Kanye West is oldschool you know ... he's been in the music scene since mid nineties.....

  • Unlucky to those who don't enjoy Kanye. Personally I do, which makes this track even better!

  • Stop insulting Kanye. Sure, he's not at the same level as those three but he almost was a couple of years ago.

  • Kool G Rap should be in this instead of Kanye

  • always thought nas was dissin rick ross with dat verse

  • clasic :D

  • No one's hating on Kanye, it's the truth..he fucking sucks

  • @LouieV6

he made the beats for izzo and heart of the city, so go on and hate on the best beats of Blueprint. Also Kanyes albums are pretty much all masterpieces. He's just not an amazing rapper.

  • @kumarv9393 Who the fuck is hating on Kanye you butthurt little bitch? He's beats are great! he's an awesome producer! but his skills on the mic are fucking overrated! he's average and that's not hating, quit playing the hater card when someone says something bad about your favorite rapper

  • @LouieV6

uh I'm pretty sure I said "he's not an amazing rapper." Learn to read dumb bitch. And I dont think anyone denies that he isn't a great rapper. He's obviously not on the level of these dudes, but he's still good. And as an overall artist, Kanye is better than all 3 of these dudes.

  • @kumarv9393 Thanks for the morning laugh.

  • Comment removed

  • I’m everywhere you never been and better than I ever been

  • kanye ruined the song! his music is shit! Oh and Hieroglyphics Classic is the original Classic!

  • where is big daddy kane?

  • @lineage23k with your stupidity

  • why do people hate on kanye when probably their favorite producers/emcees will cosign on how talented he is? if you're gonna jump on a bandwagon, jump on the right one

  • @terrystizzy "Kanye West: gay rapper, that's where lines are drawn"

    - Vinnie Paz

  • @CustomMagnumFilms

    Fuck Vinnie Paz

  • @ben10TG fuck YOU

  • ONE WORD: CLASSIC

  • Yo I think we all need to chill on the Kanye hatin biz. Just listen to what you like. Great producer IMO. Not the best rhymes though. There's a difference between being able to rap and being able to write songs!

  • KANYE IS A SELLOUT CUZ HE PUTS MONEY FAME OVER EVERYTHING THATS WHY IS IS A FUCKING SELLOUT. HE DIDNT BREAK ANY MOLD OF MAINSTREAM RAP ALL HE DID WAS USE ALOT OF AUTOTUNE. HE DONR EVEN WRITE HIS OWN SHIT NOT HATTING BUT BUT IF IF HE IS A DEVIL WORSHIPER FUCK HIM

  • rakim is still untouchable today

  • Personally Kanye ruined this for me. But in a way he made it that much better, by getting school'd ....... by the Oldschool.

  • @adkrogieboy how many of yall got criminal minded? you , you or you?

  • @adkrogieboy you know what your talkin about son!!...peace...

  • im 47 and kanye deserved to be on this he ripped this shyt

  • @rodstr41

No he does not in my oppinion. Kanye is a sellout. And only sellout on there also. Only reason why he is one there is probably he paid for all of that shit.

  • @Matu1 What an ignorant comment. Listen to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and tell me he sold out. He put more man hours into that than any other album, and there's a good reason why it's one of the highest rated albums in hip hop history.

  • @Matu1 Why is kanye a sellout? Because he sell records? Because he broke the mold of what mainstream rapper looks like or sounds like? Because he is experimental with his music? Why?

  • check out my remix

  • Ra killed it. Kanye is ok but hes LEVELS below Rakim and Nas and KRS. Kanye doesnt deserve to be on this

  • What do it take to be a legend like Nas is?

  • @lazzyJames

Then dumb ass' next phrase is "thats so novice" WTF is he trying to say?

  • fuck off kanye west gay rapper
