@Bigpoppa08 My video popped up first huh? That's pretty cool. I'm glad to hear the video helped you out, glad some good came from it. Enjoy that P229!
I just got one today and have been having issues with figuring it out (this is my first holster for my p229) and your video gives everything I need to understand the what's and whys of the screws and items in the package. I searched blackhawk holster and coincidentally yours was the first AND you were demoing the p229 like mine. I just wanted to say thanks and your video helped a lot!
@haloskulls117 you will need a specific paddle holster to fit the P226. If you go to the Blackhawk website I bet it will tell you which one you will need.
Just so happens I was looking for a video to show me the proper way to use this holster for the Sig 229. I love the 229. I got the Dark Elite version. Great Job.
That little thing you hold like at @45 second mark, is just a thing that came with the packaging and it goes inside the holster when it was packaged so that the holster would keep it's shape.
Nice video! I used to be nothing but a leather man when it came to holsters, but after my girl got me the BlackHawck CQC paddle holster I gotta admit that I like it a lot. My biggest concern about it is durability; can it take what I got to throw at it? My guess, most likely not. Can anyone recommend a holster that has the same functions like the auto lock and button release, but can take a lots of real punishment?
haha thanks for the vid! I'm messin with mine right now, just got it, wanted to figure out the paddle as i've never used one. Love it now tho and i have the exact gerber tool you used! (made me chuckle) thanks!
@cmw21c i use the paddle attachment myself, i prefer it over the belt loop. once i get it in there with the paddle it's going NOWHERE! it's in there real good. in fact it takes a few mins just to get it out it's in there so good. thanks for watching
i took one of those and went to menards to get some bolts for it and bolted it to my head board. now i come home before bed take my gun off my hip and stick it in that so it is always with me incase something goes bump in the night. good holster but i worry it sticks out to far for ccw. have one for range use, but ccw i got iwb.
@dp665 yeah i don't use mine for CCW, it sticks out WAY to much.I mainly use it for range time. I have a IWB holster and a Crossbreed supertuck for my Sig for CCW.
Thanks for the video. I couldn't figure the paddle belt clips out, on instructions on card insert, I think they show them put on from the wrong side. Anyway, thanks again!
@SirWilliam318 that little black box shaped thing with the P229R on it is for packaging the Serpa, completely unimportant but i think it looks cool lol- still have mine for my 1911.
Great review! I work for Blackhawk! And that was great. The little black thing is called a spacer. It is just there to ensure the holster doesn't become damaged thru shipping. Although I found it handy to keep around if you travel. You can reinsert it in the holster and it helps to avoid squish factor.... Have fun:)
@faithsfancy Thanks! I appreciate. Maybe you working for Blackhawk can tell them of my video and maybe I can get some free swag for the positive video lol.
Blackhawk should hire you for a demo video on their site.....Sometimes youtubers give better info and actual hands on demos than the actual products websites! Great demo! ......btw GO STEELERS :0
I have one for my taurus .45 I use the belt loop attachment for mine. I like the paddle also for the ease of taking it off faster, but I just feel that it just takes a few seconds more to slide it off my belt and I feel more secure knowing that it won't go anywhere.
To each his own I guess. Regardless of either one, I make damn sure nobody comes close to my strong side.
i wasn't sure about getting this holster but after watching this video im pretty sure im gonna buy it. very informative and good review. keep up the good work and may god be with you!
@cujo09 Well the paddle portion will "hook" to your pants and belt, but mine also came with a "belt loop" attachment to run your belt through. So if I says paddle you should be fine to hook it to your belt. Hope this helps
Great Review man! Just got the same holster for my Glock 19 and your right the paddle fits very tight. It's nice how the BlackHawk comes with the different versions you can wear. No wonder a Navy Seal came up with this it's the best design in my opinion!
I was confused as shit when i got this holster, your video helped alot thanks. Nice Sig!

The plug (black square) is to keep the holster from being crushed or deformed in shipping.

Why did you put that it is a concealment holster?

@IceTTom I did? Well one of it's MULTI-purpose roles is concealment not that I would use it for that, to bulky.
