It's funny, for the same price I can get a car that has two more seats and a good sized truck while getting near the same mileage. WHY would I spend my money on something that is just less?
This Smart car does not offer proper leg protection in a crash. If you look for the video here on youtube where they crash one at 70mph, the cars windshield is intact and the doors open, BUT the leg area was completly compromised. I don't want a car that may make me an amputee in a car crash thank you very much.
@Nightbird You didn't watch the smart car vs. sedan car at all. If you drove in either car, you still will die from impact. The sedan was completely compressed on the leg area as well when it crashed after the smart car. For it's size, the smart car provided better leg protection even though the space between the hood and the leg area is not far.

Permissible total weight 990 kg.... about 2000lbs... Looked on MY car and on the web site.
