  • What if they have industrial earplugs?

  • A sound product for a group dispersal weapon / tool... how many watts does it need... if used incorrectly would the user get a pardon ?

Actually a brilliant bit of kit, rather you than me being on the receiving on it

  • make a great riot control device especially if it can be refined into say a police mans sheild.

  • That was just a loud tweeter. The real deal does not look like that small box. It is in fact lethal at higher levels.

  • What if the guy was deaf?

  • @andthentherewasbob

I love how they say "non lethal"

if you consider temporary blindness and going deaf non lethal

  • play some dubstep on that shit

  • now that you showed me

  • jokes on you! i'm deaf

  • Now i want to see someone ware that into battle

  • I want this show in the US now!

  • "These go to eleven"

  • "He couldnt get within 25 minutes of me"

most firearms have a range that is greater than 25 meters

  • @N64isgreat within 25 MINUTES? and the point of this is i believe crowd control or not to kill the enemy

  • @thepersonishere1 Lol, I meant meters :)

And I also meant that the enemys weapons will have a greater range than that. I'm guessing that this is made to subdue pirates who are usually armed.

  • Orson Welles would be proud of that headgear

  • Can You Hear me Know ? Great !

  • there goes his ear drums...

  • The Navy's primary sound assault weapon is the Boson pipe over the 1MC.

  • I think they still have guns...

They aren't going to be replaced by sound any time soon.

  • you have just formed a gang of def criminals.

  • earplugs ftw

  • haha 3:55 probably the funniest scene ive seen on bang

  • was the warning recorded or the bald guy saying it?

  • my wacky friend, would use the Dead Trumpet on him... Baahahaha

  • If you cant hear anythin you dead

  • @creigh69 We learned about the war of 1812 and how they burnt down the white house. That was like 6th grade info. Congrats on your subpar knowledge of the Us public school system.

  • 2:35 Nice jeans

  • Earphones.. that is all

  • @saymos72 from what I hear earphones make it worse or dont effect it at all

  • well yeah but then we would just shoot him

  • I don't think its that terrible when the dude is laughing and running towards it... >_>

  • Americans and our technology.... kicking British ass and making them run away with their tail between their legs since 1783.

  • @KeaParrot123 Yeah, up until 1812 when the red coats returned to sack Washington and burn the white house. you won't hear about that in your second rate public school, huh jethro!

with all your technology (developed by ex-nazi, and other foreign engineers), when have you actually won a war by yourselves? don't say grenada, because that was just laughable, arriving mob handed on a small, un-armed island. ooh, fuckin' heroes!

  • @creigh69 Excuse me, but that war was nearly two hundred years ago. The US and UK have been fairly close trading partners ever since. Also, if I recall this correctly from my European History class, Kaiser Wilhelm pushed your lines pretty far back did he not? While US soldiers at that time were indeed pathetic, being improperly trained, they gave the rest of the forces ample time to recuperate and return to the front lines where we worked together for once. Do that, even for stupid people?

  • @creigh69 Hey my dude, sorry its takin me so long to respond. I am an engineering student and usually dont waste too much time on youtube cuz of all the things i gotta do (Second rate public school system hard at work). So anyways I was just messing around with my previous comment. I have been to London and it is an awesome place (The women are sexy as hell too :D). So dont get all pissed about stupid stuff. Deuces

  • @KeaParrot123 hehe, gotcha!

hey relax fella, I'm not pissed at all, I just like to poke people now and again, get 'em revved up. You know.

Actually, I'd totally forgotten about my post. None of this is remotely important to me, after all, it's just the freakin' internet.

    Thanks Tim Berners-Lee (British) ! ;-)

  • @KeaParrot123 You're a great ambassador for your nation.

  • @RobertNicholls Thanks Brah

  • ENglish fuks, Do you realize, our governments are only going to use these against us? Why even report about it? You're getting paid but we'll all be deaf in the future.

  • @NcalDL What are you talking about?

  • @s2gga As humans have never made or come across anything that can create a perfect vaccuum, then that may just be a step too far. Space isn't even a perfect vaccuum, it's all just unproven theory. We simply do not know how to remove EVERY molecule from a space. Sorry to be pedantic.

  • Wont be long till these machines are on every street corner.

  • I love this show it exist solely in opposition to discovery's pseudo scientific productions.

  • But would it protect you from the bass cannon?

  • or just put millions of mines in his path :D

  • ear damage anyone?

  • SOUND LAZOR!!!!

  • STOP THE POLICE STATE!!!

  • ..how could he hear you, if its supposed to mute everything. ?

  • Combine walkie-talkies!!

  • use the vortexs cannon on him

  • Lets have a glas of tea my gay friends

  • Then we blow you out of the water.

  • I may have outwitted the sound weapon, but a small child could trip me...

  • how about 2 dollar ear plugs....

  • great its so fu##### annoying that their operators will be shot and skullfucked afterwards.. way to go us navy !

  • I'm pretty sure it works. But the way these guys present it, it makes it look staged and unconvincing at best.

How about playing the sound to the audience through the video?

  • you could pull down to 200 microns no problem tho and that would block alot more than atmospheric pressure

  • Anyone remember Sonaguard! They were alarm systems way back.

  • dubstep? or what?

  • Funny how dallas has an invisible camera filming him. 0:59

  • Funny how dallas has an invisible camera filming him.

  • That's nothing. Rebecca Black can be lethal within a radius of 1.3 miles.

  • @napischu Rebecca black's noise also causes sound based radiation

  • Everyone is so funny calling the device useless because it was stopped by some foam and glass. Problem is that this is a non-lethal DETERRANT, NOT a weapon. Its to make people turn around and go home. Step 2 if they dont heed the deterrant is to kill them using weapons. I dont know one pirate thats gonna approach a coast guard cutter in a 4 foot helmet of blue foam. Are rubber bulletts useless because people can wear a goose down jacket?

  • well now the problem of getting passed the "sound" is solved but you can still be shot from a mile away because you won't be hard to spot...... because you'll look ridiculous

  • I was so expecting Ms Pacman to come out and eat him.

  • Give this to any kid; and they will drain the battery on this

  • he's the Jugganaut

  • what if they're deaf

  • That a small device. You should try the anti-roit ones that will knock you off your feet.

  • Stupid ass Navy, make something useful.

  • The sound weapon is just the first TRY..

If it does not work they turn the Tin Cans/destroyers 5 inch gun s on THE TARGET....I think the 5 inch the better solution ,force is what the most parts of the world respect..

  • @TheChristianRight09

hahahah NO only the US respects force and israel. well their armies that is

  • @doomermeeko loser....

  • @TheChristianRight09

The fact that 'loser' was your answer proves otherwise lol

  • @doomermeeko your a blank page,that says it all..

  • JB's new single Baby 2 now on iTunes :P

  • This is fucking retarded!

  • hang on havent we just given terrorists information to beat us navy technology?

  • the sound waves were definitely not good for the rest of that dumb asses exposed body.

  • @JeanLaFoote0 Ummmmm..... kay? That makes total sense....

  • @willywonk0 extreme sound vibrations could cause tissue heating, and lead to bleeding in the soft internal organs like the intestines, or the sex organs. it can also create changes in cells, greatly reduce cell lifetime and the rate of cell division. now obviously the short amount of time this guy was exposed wouldn't do much damage, but longer exposure i think would cause him problems.

  • I guess you could do that same with a Modern Talking song..

  • It's used to stop people who think it would be fun to climb on board and screw around, not terrorists

  • its horrible yet he smiles

  • don't see this video with headphones

    ¬¬

  • At the range they were testing it, the guy wouldn't have even gotten that close before someone on a 50 cal had the authority to kill him. I hope nobody seriously thinks the US Navy would rely on something like this to protect their ships. Yeah it may work in theory, but why complicate things? You come near our ships, you will be shot.

  • Does the foam stop bullets, cause that's whats coming next once the navy realizes their sound toy isn't working.

  • ...now we know that it doesnt work on the characters in katamari. DAMMIT!

  • probably can't stop a bullet

  • *shoots guy in head.

  • from the broadcasting company that brought you propaganda 24 and dancing with the whores, in association with Camelot's tax on the poor we present "do as your told or we'll scramble your fucking brains" coming to a protest rally near you, there will also be additional exhibits:microwave blasters and mystery gas grenades, including golden oldies such as rubber bullets the and the ever popular truncheon. these are non optional interactive displays of violence for all to enjoy. God save the queen.

  • @boosomentity I feel happy knowing they are fucking up those scumy scum scummers

  • @MightySaturn5 dog shrugs head to the side and looks confused, that dog is me. clarify your position

  • @boosomentity ever see when angry protesters doused with goverment cheese slices which themselves were doused with ignited gasoline...sure it sounds like a three stooges scene but in reality having an acidic hunk of cheese melting into the face of a protester thats screaming "the chh...chh...cheese is burning through my face!" is a scene right out of "Lets fill Pelosi's eyes with ants and staple shut the lids" (3-D version).

    .....my position is "sitting"

  • 4.15 Gwar vs. US Navy

  • this is a bullcocky piece of technology... sure, this thing may stop a person at 25 yards, but bullets can stop a person at hundreds of yards and missiles/rockets can damage a ship from a greater distance than this piece of junk

  • @MrAnon95 but this isnt designed to damage a ship...

  • @Dune1884 you missed the point, the military usually puts these pieces on ships to stop terrorists. Terrorists use guns, and we are using sound? BS

  • How long before European militaries abandon guns in favor of this, pepper spray and a whistle?

  • Comment removed

  • @polarbear1876 I think this is supposed to be a focused wave. If the subject moves out of the way, he stops being affected. So people on the boat that is using this wouldn't be affected, unless they pointed it at themselves.

  • @ricardjorg~ yes thats exactly right! U have to aim it pretty much at the persons HEAD for it to be fully effective.

This is nothing compared to the Microwave weapons they will be using for crowd control!! The microwaves penetrate your skin and hit your pain-receptors!.... It feels like your skin is on fire!

  • This is relevant to the US interests when the NWO comes around.

  • They already used this on people in Pittsburgh G20 Protest.

  • I like a microwave gun better.

  • Layer of air between the 2 glasses? How about vacuum? Sound doesn't travel in vacuum. Problem solved

  • @s2gga Well it would still be able to travel through your connections to the glass.

  • @s2gga Gl breathing then...

  • @s2gga Not as simple as that. The two layers of glass meet up with whatever frame it's put into therefore the vibrations will resonate noise. So the sound won't travel through the glass it will travel around it.

  • @s2gga sound would still travel through the solid part and get to your ears.

  • @s2gga its not possible to create a perfect vacuum, there will always be some air... also there would be a lot of work required to create something close to a vacuum...

  • @s2gga True but how you gonna put that into practice with such a low budget?

  • @s2gga not a brilliant theory. The man inside it wouldnt be able to breathe well even if you gave him breathing apparatus and the glass may shatter. you would need thick metal rods to hold apart the two layers that have a vauum between them, which defeats the purpose since sound travels brilliantly in metals (and the metal would deform).

  • @s2gga That structure would probably colapse due to atmospheric pressure.

  • @s2gga Make a vacuum helmet and show us.

  • @s2gga you cant breathe in a vacuum silly billy

  • @s2gga there has never been a perfect vacuum created

  • @onlyontuesdays99 herp derp, space.

  • @s2gga he needs to breathe, you know

  • @s2gga \While achieveable, not practical, and practicality is what he's going for. This was built with cheap materials, thats what makes it cook

  • @s2gga And just how would you attempt to build that?

  • @s2gga That's pretty smart. Will the glass stop the bullets they use after you've gotten close?

  • @s2gga you also can't breath in a vacuum

  • Does anyone else notice a discontinuity of recording when Jem is talk to his friend, we see him all alone in the background but when it gets a close up of his friend, it appears as thought the camera man is right next to him.

  • people need to relise the lies getting told,a it is to controle the public,it is no good for war, that sound waves can bring down wall,so what dammage will it do to bones and organs ?there now making microwave crowd controle (claim it is for war)they want to burn protesters,so they run screaming in pain, but we all know you can just deflect microwave signals lol lol

  • hahahaha i can see the army using that helmet =P

  • so... i use my headphones and then i made this 1 million dollar weapon obsolete?

  • Hey Guys! Stuff like this is designed to use on US! Enemy combatants get killed or water boarded. Citizens get taserd and ear raped.

  • @WhoSoundFX Did he SWEAR at 2.03? It's a 7.30pm show! Pre watershed!

  • Why would (very precise) noise cancelling headphones not work? I mean, the principle in those things is very sound (no pun int.).

  • @LeatherCladVegan

    it will not work

  • @630MillionGods

That's very informative... Why won't it work?

  • @LeatherCladVegan : head phones will have to be as powerful as LRAD

  • @LeatherCladVegan : head phones will have to be as powerful as LRAD noise reaching your ear.

  • @630MillionGods

    Defeatist!

  • @Leather Clad Vegan if you could get the earphones to emit the exact frequency that the lrad does but in the reverse, then for sure it would work its pure science. but i still would want to be the guy testing it out to get it right lol 2 wave forms of the exact opposite form cancel each other out 100 %

  • @robdmhaze

Yes I understand, but what 630MillionZombies is saying is that the amplitude required would be too high for a set of headphones. I'm not sure I agree with him though... Because you could use the headphones firstly as a set of ear-protectors, and then you would only have to supply the same amount of acoustic energy as was being transmitted through the ear-protectors... You could use extra-aural protectors with in-ear cancelling transmitters. Hell I don't know, but it's possible.

  • 1 Million dollars of audio tech, 50 quids worth of bits from B&Q. Making your friend look life a daft idiot PRICELESS.

  • now terrorist now knows how to stop it.......

  • @merserari yea....... bur if any terroirst have some like this HLMET he is probably be powned by some other guy witch i dony know... SOME BIG AND POWERFUL MACHINEGUN

  • @Gala789 agreed.

  • This in no way changes the effectiveness of the LRAD. Even if a terrorist group/cell wore this... I wonder how easy they will be to stop... Or i don't know, spot out of a crowd? Even on the water, a vessel approaching a US ship wearing huge helmets like that, there would be no hesitation to blow them out of the water. This tech is a non lethal and a largely effective weapon that keeps our soldiers safe.

  • Cool video! Foam beats 1million tech, but bullet beats foam.

  • LOL, would a pillow work?

  • They made a crystal glass exploder, so what?

  • I reckon active noise cancellation would work on this.. although the option's impractical.

  • would like to see portable LRADs replace Tasers and Mace in the future. Course the psycho cops would turn the settings all the way up to just blow your eardrums out of your skull.

  • what about ear plugs, another useless invention..

  • If am not mistaken these boxes were developed by Meyer sound from Berkeley California. and is based on the SB-1 long throw speaker

  • i like how the guy in the glasses seems like an executor

  • the sea sheppard will take a dozen

  • Does anyone else think Jem is hot as hell too?

  • @sdarms111 i want his damn arms!!!!!!!!!! thats it lmfao i wonder how long he worked for those

  • this technology is just a deterrent. Don't think you can go up against the most powerful navy in the world just because of this...

  • That was wonderful

  • they already use something similar that train stations in england to detour vandals.

  • not NEARLY as powerful

  • lol they say the sound system is for the navy...but really, they are using these machines against the american people who are trying to protest the goverment....check it out, using sound to stop protestors... bbc should explain the other reason behind this technology and its invention...

  • What about deaf ninjas?

  • deaf ninja.... yeah right....

  • im sure terrorists have those sound helmets dont they

  • what terrorists?

  • This was on future weapons years ago

  • You people are morons. How many folks are going to spend the money and then go around and wear the kinds of sound suppression needed to defeat this? One out of a hundred? Out of a thousand?

    Morons.

  • Which goes to show you that millions of dollars of research cannot replace common sense. What a waste of money. How is this better than a high-pressure water hose? It is comforting, however, to know that there remains the Achille's Heel of government---stupidity.

  • @calvinsman conditioning through fear?

  • the sound waves may not penetrate the turbins (rags) worn on the head....but a 50 caliber round seems to do the trick.

  • hahahahah!

    that even hurts through headfones!

  • We may need this. The San Diego Sheriff's Department has at least one LRAD for crowd control and any rational citizen would have to ask why they'd need such a thing. The answer can't be a good one.

There's an easier way than THAT getup, though. Noise cancelling headphones, in a closed motorcycle helmet, with 30 dB in-ear fitted earplugs, will give more than enough protection against an LRAD and it's not bulky.

  • Thank God we got patriots like you to help us keep the bad guys at bay. Many thanks.

  • where would i get one of those?
