another issue for child psychology is the repeated messages of the media that make distinctions between women, based on whether they have used bleach to make their hair appear blonde. we have all grown up with the message from the media that this is somehow a superior state to be. isn't it time we think about the messages we want to teach our children in this respect?

REALITY SHOWS... They film you and then they edit, create and sensationalize the story to entertain. This father decided to try his own hand at "REALITY" entertainment, and unfortunately ended up making some really poor judgements that now puts his whole family at risk for getting broken up. He musta been smoking something when he dreamed this one up. I hope they get the whole family into some counselling for the kids sake and then maybe Dad can get healthy and apologize to the kids.

True this family does need to be evaluated. There are alot of unanswered questions in this incident. With all the child abuse awareness there are alot of red flags.

Psychologist are nothing more then men called charlatans from days of old. They were witches and sorcerers and when found burned at the stake. This so call psychologist needs cameras in his house so everyone in the world can see just how a human beings should act sec by sec, day by day, sense he spews he knows everything about mankind. What a slim ball. Not to mention he did not waist one second to get in front of the very cameras he is so worried about. Keep your nose to yourself. FAIL

I agree wholeheartedly - Psychologists pretend to be scientists by using complex words and being very verbose. Their studies often have little to no control and many times are really common sense things (and other times not ie. FREUD's childhood theories). Broad generalization is the key in psychology.

@hash1212 jeez that's horribly rude. Psychologists go through 4 years of med school like any other doctor. They study the human mind, and you sound like an idiot because Psychology IS science. Dr. Phil and stuff is rediculous because they don't seem genuine. But the guy talking is a psychiatrist and is being honest and expressing his knowledge about children. Psychology can really save peoples lives. Some Dr.'s don't care but some are really intelligent and empathetic people. Watch what you say.

On Wife Swap the same kid gave the middle finer and used the B word. The father acted like he was 3 years old. If you are sick would you go on tv with a tray to throw up in? No! I don't blame the children I blame the parents as they seem so off in my opinion.
