Entertainment was watching people fight to the death or execution in just about every country. The upper class enjoyed torturing their slaves or workers from lower class. Just read about torturing methods from the middle ages, this is nothing compared to them.

You're right, because some of the horror movies on Fearnet aren't that great (even the newer ones that are made for tv). I wish they would put the movie Quarantine on Fearnet (I haven't seen it yet), but unfortunately, it's only available on the premium channels (HBO, Movieplex, Starz, etc). I didn't understand the ending of The Devil's Chair the 1st time, but after watching it the 2nd time, I finally got it :-)
I was napping by the tv and woke up when "the chair" was having it´s way with Rachel. It kinda freaked me out, so I continued to watch. Pretty good horror flick, nightmarish and disturbing. I almost had nightmares afterwards, which I almost never experience after a horror movie...

It is but the ending gave it a whole nother story, all the way you think its a fantasy herror (like usual, just a crappy one) but in the end is where you find out that he is actually just crazy. The chair dosent exist, the demon and the other world. All the things the old guy told him about how he believed him was all in he's head. He did kill his wife and he did rape her like the other girls in the end. I did not expect that to happen

This film was done on a low budget...I watched the "making of" documentary...I think, for what they had, they came up with a brilliant ending, I really do. I enjoyed the way the film poked fun at itself - and then you never saw the ending coming.
I just saw this the other night - I thought it was great. It's a psychological thriller - mixed with the horror thing. Yeah, the movie has problems, but I think it was overall really enjoyable. I think the people giving it crappy reviews were looking for a typical horror film...and got annoyed that the ending was a twist. That's on those viewers - not the film. Also the lead actor was pretty good - when he wasn't acting to himself.
I wasn't annoyed by the ending...I thought it was the best part of the film, well, apart from the seeing the monster, but overall it's shit. Crap acting, all the female actors were pathetic. Shame really, should of been much better for the budget they had.
But, yeah, they were - but see - the film was poking fun at itself all those "are you filled yet with the bad acting and horror movie blah blah?" he says in the voice over? It's him as a psycho, poking fun at the conventional bullshit they say in movies, the girl half naked "I told you I'd get her out of her shirt" (he says in V.O.) - then you find it's all in his mind. He was good. I've been a horror fan since I was little; I'm the first to say when something sucked. This intrigued me.
Yeh I realised that, I did know that, but it came off as stupid and laughable rather than being comical...it was a really tacky bit of film making. Regardless of all these in-jokes and attempts at making it cool with the cliche rock music it still is, in my view a SHIT film. Oh its all in his head, how original. Yawn.

I saw this last night and it was horrible. The "demon" was literally a bunch of wet trash bags over what looked like a horse skull. The only part worth watching was the last 3 minutes. I guess the point of trailers is to make movies look good though. Lucky it didn't show any of the actual "acting". Good grief....

Not for the story or the acting (actually, my friend thought it looked like a bad porno! haha), but just by the way you can get into Nick's psychotic minds, seeing what he sees and how he does it... He knew he was bullshitting them. I don't think even he planned to do what he did at the end though. I'm almost convinced it was completely spontaneous.
The main character is completely and totally psychotic.
Everything was happening within his mind. There was no demon, no chair. He was an insane, psychopathic killer all along. He just had them convinced that he truly believed there WAS a chair that transported them to some other place.

I think the people giving it crappy reviews were looking for a typical horror film...and got annoyed that the ending was a twist. That's on those viewers - not the film. Also the lead actor was pretty good - when he wasn't acting to himself.

I wasn't annoyed by the ending...I thought it was the best part of the film, well, apart from the seeing the monster, but overall it's shit. Crap acting, all the female actors were pathetic. Shame really, should of been much better for the budget they had.

But, yeah, they were - but see - the film was poking fun at itself all those "are you filled yet with the bad acting and horror movie blah blah?" he says in the voice over? It's him as a psycho, poking fun at the conventional bullshit they say in movies, the girl half naked "I told you I'd get her out of her shirt" (he says in V.O.) - then you find it's all in his mind. He was good. I've been a horror fan since I was little; I'm the first to say when something sucked. This intrigued me.

Yeh I realised that, I did know that, but it came off as stupid and laughable rather than being comical...it was a really tacky bit of film making. Regardless of all these in-jokes and attempts at making it cool with the cliche rock music it still is, in my view a SHIT film. Oh its all in his head, how original. Yawn.

one of the worse films i have ever seen. The acting is poor, the story is weak and the fact that most of the actors are from Hollyoaks (a terrible program shown on tv in the UK) it was all in all just terrible.

I saw this last night and it was horrible. The "demon" was literally a bunch of wet trash bags over what looked like a horse skull. The only part worth watching was the last 3 minutes. I guess the point of trailers is to make movies look good though. Lucky it didn't show any of the actual "acting". Good grief....

This movie is a masterpiece!! Not for the story or the acting (actually, my friend thought it looked like a bad porno! haha), but just by the way you can get into Nick's psychotic minds, seeing what he sees and how he does it... I just like this kind of psychological movies I guess, so if anyone has any sugestions for me... could be great!! :P

actually it isn't unnatural :D it's just guy hatching people. all the unnatural was only in his crazy mind. i agree that it wasn't scary, only the last minutes were quite ugly. have to say that there were interesting plot twists :D

The main character is completely and totally psychotic.
Everything was happening within his mind. There was no demon, no chair. He was an insane, psychopathic killer all along. He just had them convinced that he truly believed there WAS a chair that transported them to some other place.

It looks like it's all slaughter, bloody, crying, creepy stuff. But the first half of the movie is just talking, but the other half gets a LOT more extiting!
