Cave Johnson(look into him for spoilers) is now a genetic robot, similar to GLaDOS because of his mercury poisoning and his want to stay alive. HE gets out of Aperture Labs during its explosive end and drags you off. Why? Does he find potential in you? Want to put you in cryo?(freezing to preserve you) We will find out in Portal 2 (is it coming this Fall?)

Well one thing is confirmed Portal 2 will get simultaneous release with Steam on Mac. You DO wake up hundreds of years after the events of the first one, and yes GLaDoS is alive and well. Most of the facility is destroyed from the explosion and it's slowly crumbling
