They are Clearly Being Harassed. White people call into the local police and say their afraid that the blacks are there to start Trouble. Then the white cops show up to Intimidate the black people until they leave the area. BLACK PEOPLE! When this happens, call your local (FBI). There's one in every County of the U.S.A. @johncobb1972 actually filming cops is a good thing. if they break a low or protocol, you have evidence. without it, they would instantly believe their own officers over you. they also can't ask you to stop unless you're interfering directly with their investigation or activities. from afar, they cannot stop you and it is illegal for them to take your camera/tapes.

It is never safe to assume that as a bystander you fully understand the interaction between someone who is a stranger to you and law enforcement. It is inappropriate to label this as "harassment" - though it would have been fine to post it with your impressions of the scene. Law enforcement officers are all too often cast in an undeserved negative light.

Video guy, where are the bike riders you reported you saw. I did not see any other bike except the girl had. Could it be the ranger had not see the ones you saw earlier? the ranger was dealing with this problem here first, because it was at hand.

It has happened to me and I dont have a record and I have never been to jail. I pay my taxes and on top of that I am a female. I always hoped that racism in the USA was exaggerated, but I visited last year and it was sadly true- I was shoved violently out of the way by two black women, and when i complained they made a racial slur at me- i took my girlfriend to a club in brooklyn where she was called a white slut and threatened by black girls in the toilet, and two days before we left LA i was punched in the face and racially abused by a black man in a nightclub queue.

it would be nice if people started to realize cops dont just show up and decide to piss people off! They get dispatched to the call! Which means your neighbors have complained about it and a cop (innocent third party) has to come handle a problem that you as an adult obviously cannot.

they are not always dispatched. They do just show up sometimes. It's called patrolling!! It's what they get paid for. Most of the time they dont have a call depending on what city you live in.

You all should look up and watch the movie , "White Mans Burden" Great movie, and hopefully it would AT LEAST get some people to think....at least those with an open mind.

If I turn up myb music at a park it's disturbing people. The group over blares Green Day or Stone Temple Pilots, who I like as a black man, it's ok. Thats all. Understandably alot of people hate rap,but it's almost like a different set of rules. I wasn't there,but being black, I'm guessing music somehow was a factor.

From what I saw "mouthing off" means saying, "why are you approaching us and not that white family over there?". Anyways maybe you can elaborate on that if you wish. Why would there be any tickets? They would have to break the law for that to happen. As for this so called cop what disorderly conduct? You are the reason why I don't trust pigs. @jpow1983 you should have gotten the family's number and have them file a complaint. then made a copy of the tape and submit that as evidence (assuming you had footage of other bikers in the shot). video is a vital tool against police oppression. most cops serve, but some are just closeted bigots, power-hungry jocks, or racists. it's good to point those out :)

The title of this video is funny. Yeah, know, if people would just go to the park and behave and have fun. Instead they go out and think they're in their own backyards and no rules apply. Most patrons of the parks are just out to relax and then you get a few who think they can do whatever they want when ever they want. I'm a cop and the guy in the video would have been arrested on the spot for disorderly conduct. GO NYSPP.

I am the Park Ranger in the video, I was present for the incident. The patron accused myself and the officer of being racist, but that is simply not true. In actuality, the patron was mouthing off to us after we respectfully asked him to to adhere to basic park rules and regulations. He over reacted and we simply tried to calm him down. He wasn't even written any tickets or anything. The situation was handled properly and professionaly.
