Being disabled I thought I would have no problem getting help after being tased on my own property by an officer who said I scared him. I am 5'10 and 160 soaking wet. If an officer is scared its okay to taser a disabled man? He lied consistently on the stand but he still got me put in jail where I was refused meds for 30 hours.

I think it's an obvious case of, someone was following a high profile official, video taping their unmarked vehicle, and that is BLATANTLY SUSPICIOUS. They caled and reported someone tailing them- they wanted backup. Plain and simple. They found out it was a reporter and let her go. No harm, no foul... Being disabled I thought I would have no problem getting help after being tased on my own property by an officer who said I scared him. I am 5'10 and 160 soaking wet. If an officer is scared its okay to taser a disabled man? He lied consistently on the stand but he still got me put in jail where I was refused meds for 30 hours.

When I was younger (I've dated police officers in the past), an officer in our town would be disciplined for using profanity with a citizen. Now we have officers with such limited vocabularies they can't form a coherent sentence, much less one that doesn't utilize profanity.

Part of the problem with police brutality is that officers seem to be abnormally frightened and lacking in communication skills. This is a training issue. Perhaps they need to be shown that POLITE CONVERSATION is a more effective means to determine if someone is a threat than using physical force. There is no reason to even lay hands on a citizen until it has been determined that citizen is a threat. Asking a couple of questions, looking at ID, should have settled these officers "FEAR"
