I remember listining to this on KBLX (The Quiet Storm) in Cali, way before Vanessa's version came out, I still have their LP record. Vanessa version is good but I always like theirs first.

Much better version that did not get the attention that Vanessa Williams' version got. I used to listen to this version on the Quiet Storm on WBLS and Kissin After Dark on 98.7 in NY. When Vanessa's version came out, I didn't like it and still don't, hers was too Pop. The original is always the best ( well at least in most cases).

Well i'm a little torn to, since i love this song so much and today i find out Guinn is the original artist of the song. I know it's strictly business in America, but damn i hate the practice of 'business' in this country when we screw each other for wealth,etc., and there's enough for everybody. Still luv VW, but "Guinn" thank you for this one, i hope your contracted to get your extra share from all who use "Dreamin"!

this is a very beautiful song. you can just listen to this in bed at 2 Am or 3 am in the morning. it's more like a bedroom song. i thought the beautiful and sultry vanessa williams brought this out first. i guess i was wrong. both versions are great. vanessa williams sang it with a little more twist though, but i like this one too.

I remember recording this version from the radion on tape back when it first came out, and I remember when VW came out with the song they were interviewing her and she mentioned that it was a remake but I never did catch the name of the original group. I've known for years that her version was a remake and nobody believed me. Years later I called the radio station that i recorded it from and they insisted that VW was the original, well thank you Archie for proving me right it's the same version

I remember this original version when it first came out. I prefer this version. Although the arrangement is exactly like Vanessa's version I find it much more soulful. I like Lori Fulton's voice better although I like V's voice too.

I listen to music for purposes of nostalgia, and I don't remember ever hearing this song during the 80's.

As it turns out, this song never made it to the Billboard charts. It flopped. It was not until Vanessa's version that it made the top 5.

Yeah, I really never realized this group existed in 1986. You are probably right when you said this version never made it to the billboard charts and that is why we never new this version existed; but it is still an awesome song. No version is better than Vanessa Williams'!

This is the original version of Dreamin. If you look at the credits on Vanessa's version, Guinn is credited with vocal arrangements. I bought this album in Frankfurt Germany when it first came out.
