I didn't like this song at first, but it grew on me, and now I really like it. The lyrics are A+ and the melody is tight. If this melody had a nicer drumbeat with some bass behind it this song would be one of their best!
DOOOPE. i think half the blue scholars fans who are disappointed with this EP don't have a fucking clue about what geo's talkin bout with his themes bout colonization/imperialism. it's more political than ever, fools. STUDY UP! <3

duuuuuude..... please dont do this.. get back into your familiar tune. thats why i respect you two so much. i'll be so disappointed if you continue on this route towards that shitty, uncreative mainstream sound... where did sabzi's crafty beats go?? is he trippin on acid? and wtf is up geo? listen to yourself.. "yo, yo, bahbahbap, yo check it..." what is that, man. cmon, a true blue scholars fan knows that aint you. go back, go back to that good underground sound that has meaning bro
I think this album is great. It may not be as awesome as their earlier works, but great artists know how to experiment and try new things. It's how you become a better artist. Plus I hear it's inspired from their trip to Hawaii. Shit's all good.
Iono about all this "let down" talk. I feel what your saying but this is not a full album.... also, i appreciate geo's versatility on this shit. He comes ill on this beat and its hella different then anything else he spit on before
scholars poops what Wayne spits, album may be a let down, but yes only to comparison to their earlier stuff, it's still better than candy rappers speaking dirty lies and materialistic purpose.
So true... even a "let down" from Blue Scholars is significantly better than ANY mainstream rapper I've heard and it's vastly better than most legit underground hip hop as well... plus this EP was supposed to be a different direction, a change for a bit, all Hawaii inspired...
shits real. they were inspired by their trip to hawaii. they wre experimenting with OOF! an though its not like though it may not be on the same plateau as bayani (not much can stand up) i like what they did wit it.
This album is a letdown, if only because of their earlier works. There's some good shit on here, but it just doesn't hold up to the usual level of incredibleness. It's probably cuz it's a tribute album, so they weren't entirely just being themselves, imo...
Amazing

People who dislike this are fucktards. It's as political as ever but it's a completely different way. It's not militant it's chilled.

@xzyanya Have you listened to half the album bro? How exactly is Cruz about imperialism?
onceuponanASYLUM 1 year ago
@xzyanya I think it's just as political, but less accessible. Maybe that's why people aren't getting it and are getting frustrated.
