wow... see i still believe in god, but i renounce my title of Christianity because the majority of them are seriously just a bunch of hypocritical loonies who can't reason for themselves. obviously we know the world can't just come to be instantaneously. ancient man didn't know any better so of course they could believe earth was flat and was made in 7 days when they wrote the bible. I believe the bible was supposed to be more complex than men could comprehend back in those days.
why would anyone dislike a Eugenie Scott video. She looks like a harmless old lady who probably would give a visitor milk and cookies and who never ever swears. ;-)
Intelligence may well be a good survival trait, as long as you actually breed and dont spend the time just chatting ;)
Creationism is not a 'problem', as described in this video. Prove to me beyond any doubt that we came from Monkeys and I'll accept that they teach it in schools. These arrogant fucks haven't a clue and they are not even close to proving it and yet they are forcing it down peoples necks. Is the mexican chihuahua an improvement over wolves? Don't fuckin' think so! Evolution as a 'theory' has more holes in it than tea strainer! Intelligent design is the elephant in the room here
@HypaSonicDeathMonkey Obviously it concerns the evolution of all life on earth, that goes without saying, but that is not what this issue is about.
You give me an example of a genetic 'evolution' or evolutionary process which can be seen to increase the information in a genome of any given life form and we'll take it from there?
I somehow doubt your expertise in this area stretches much beyond disrespecting peoples' religious views even though this who debate has nothing to do with religion.
Oh yeah, because you were being oh-so respectful with your epic disregard of an almost universally accepted scientific principle in place of your own backwards beliefs. Also, how the fuck does an argument where you start with a sentence defending creationism and saying evolution is a lie (apparently you know more than almost a hundred and fifty years of scientific refinement) not religious?
Firstly my believe's are based on science. You don't seem to understand the principle of genome information? In order for so called 'evolution' to take place the information must increase, otherwise it is de-evolution or simply an animal adapting to its environment. Yes of course this happens, all the time in fact but how they can study this and they widely speculate that the human race evolved from primates is laughable
@HypaSonicDeathMonkey In response to my 'epic disregard' for your views, that everybody else believes so therefore must be true?! Everybody once believed the world was flat too! The reality is obviously the people who believe the bible literally are even more nuts than you lads but that's not the issue here. In fact try to forget about religion altogether and look at the facts. Is it not logical to assume that if we evolved from primates in that space of time, end of story....
"You give me an example of a genetic 'evolution' or evolutionary process which can be seen to increase the information in a genome of any given life form and we'll take it from there?"
This shows your misunderstanding. It doesn't have to increase the information, it just has to change it. The change doesn't necessarily have to be for the better. All it has to do is survive, it does *not* have to look cooler or have bigger claws or anything.
@HypaSonicDeathMonkey This shows your misunderstanding I'm afraid. The information has to increase for increased intelligence to 'evolve'. That is a fact and there is no evidence of this anywhere else in the animal kingdom, maybe we are unique though?? Then your theory of evolution is definitely out the window
Except it isn't. Evolution and natural selection have fuck all to do with an increase in intelligence, only adaptation to the environment and survival. That's all. Whoever told you that it means increased intelligence was a fucking idiot.
As you refuse to consider this on any rational terms and instead insist on trying to pick holes in something you obviously know nothing reliable about (protip: Conservapedia isn't reliable), I'd rather stop now before this gets any more retarded.
Seriously, read wikipedia's page or rational wiki's one or fucking anything. Increased intelligence has never ever ever been part of the fact of natural selection and evolution. Even if what you claim was true and it was flawed, it's still a hell of a lot better than saying a magic bearded man who lives in the fucking sky did it.
I would'nt trust wikipedia too much if I were you....ANY person can randomly put something on wikipedia and NOBODY will check...
If you want to prove something do it by refering tot a scientific magazine...or check Web of Knowledge...anything that is written and checked by peer review
More specifically, a chihuahua is a shitty little dog and the result of countless generations of human meddling in addition to natural selection. People don't want a wolf. They want a controllable dog. The traits that are most dog-like are the only ones allowed to survive.
As you obviously don't understand the very concept of natural selection and seem to think that the main criteria in evolution is human-centric "improvement", however, I'll stop before I give you a headache.
who the hell cares? Both theories are a load of crap anyway. We were all created from horse shit. That's why what most people say and do, sounds and looks like an animal's anus.
Creationtards are the worst though.
In school we learned nothing about how the universe and everything else was created. Mainly becuase no one knows. instead we learned about different ideas.

If people believe they were created then why don't they use the one thing that's supposed to differentiate us from lower(?) animals; their brain.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for this lady. While other scientists are out exploring the wonders of the natural world, this woman is locked in a perpetual battle with intellectual vandals who would encourage children to scoff at knowledge and instead turn to fairy tales as a way of explaining the world. It's not a pleasant job, but we are very, very lucky that certain people are prepared to do it.
This whole scene has ALWAYS been a battle between religion and science; evolution is scientifically crystal clear. Even if it wasn't it was never ABOUT evolution. There's just no excuse any longer.
