    Shreddies was well loved, but boring 65 yr old brand. the challenge was to spark interest and make people talk about the brand again. Your rant proved their campaign successful. it won an advertising award btw, and boosted sales.

  • Wow. You are really not too bright. The campaign was a joke. I was at a screening last night where they ran the Cannes award winning Shreddies ads. Some of the ones they showed were the commercials they created in response to people who actually wrote it to complain. Basically, they couldn't believe anyone took it seriously.

    So I think that we can say in terms of publicity, this campaign was entirely successful. I think it's an absolutely genius move!

  • i agree it's really stupid. i don't get how people say they like diamond better for the fact that they're both the same dam thing. it's like comparing a red wooden chair to the exact same chair only side ways. wth. all they did was change the angles of it and there, they have from a square to a diamond. i mean, who the hell cares? when you pour the dam cereal in your bowl you're not going to care if they're either squares or diamonds. all you want to do is eat the dam thing, not check the shape.

  • But it isn't just a 45 degree rotation. If you look carefully at the weaving of the cereal at 1:15, they also had to re-weave it on that same angle. Plus I read that they switched the back to the front to improve how the milk gets absorbed. And they don't cost any more than regular Shreddies.
