  • Thats because the original custom JEMs bought custom guitar making into the spotlight for a whole new generation with his various creations.and modifications. In my oppinion his talents ar every underrated as well as overlooked by Ibanez JEM snobs. Mention his name and people besmearch him saying his work was shotty making anything up to defend the cheap remake that they bought from Ibanez

Joes guitars play like no other guitar off the shelf at ANY major chain no matter what the price. .

  • the only good jems you can get your mitts on are 1990/1993 circa the best being the florals with ebony fingerboards and there hard to find after that they used crap materials ibanez no pride!!!!!!!!!!

  • china copy....

  • @MICKEYISLOWD It's the real deal.

  • You need to get a real JEM.

  • @stagekev how is it a fake JEM? looks like a JEM7vwh with an edge pro, dimarzio evolution's , alder body, gold hardware, rosewood and tree of life. all looks like a real one to me

  • @deathcore1239

Because its made by Ibanez.. Get a Despagni JEM then you will have a real JEM.

  • @stagekev - Despagni's that are 20 years old can still go for $2000. Crazy.

  • it looks like a jem555 to me.now thats deffo not custom shop lol

  • Oh please... Don't overrate it, stupid

  • lol J customs are built in japan. That's why they are called 'J-Customs'

The only ibanez guitars built in the USA for the past ten years or more have been the LA Custom shop (LACS) and those are endorsee-only

  • and they cost around the price of a kidney :<

  • @guitarplayerone You are correct sir. Also the new Prestige's for 2010 have stopped stamping the headstock with Team J Craft, they now have the KTS Titanium Rod logo and Made in Japan under it. That's how mine arrived, I called Ibanez in Bensalem, PA and the customer relations guy said they dropped logo for 2010, he wasn't sure why

  • @guitarplayerone Prestieges are also built in Japan.

  • Great guitar.

    I got a Prestige RG1570 myself, I love it.

  • Well, if it's custom built, there has to be a difference than the actual 7VWH production model. Otherwise they would just tell you to go buy the production model. But, according to this video, I don't see very much difference. And if it is the same specs, then you kinda wasted your money.

  • why isn't the tremolo gold my 7v is?

  • It is!

  • It is gold!

  • It's not a custom, it's the top of the line JEM model (JEM7WH). Custom means that they make it for you when you order it, this one you can get in the stores without ordering it first.

  • That's cool! I wonder why I had to wait then for them to build it for me while I lived there in Kobe Japan for 2 months then! HHmm I wonder!!

  • Every JEM7WH is made by Team J.Craft, and it is a production model, why you had to wait, i don't know. You can even get it in a store in Greenland. You being in Kobe might be the answer, tadaa!

  • Oh I see what's going on here, you're one of these guys who surfs the net trying to piss people off and show how smart you are, Ahh aren't you cute!

  • Not really. How long have you played? Or just have the money to buy a guitar without knowing to much about them? The last guy who thought he knew sth about guitars and messed with my JEM777 before a show, ended up suing me for what i did to him, and he lost. And if a guitar is available in Greenland, it's no way in hell a custom. I should know, i lived there...

  • I have played for 28 years and I have a masters degree in music teaching from CU Boulder Colorado. I have played the Jem models since 1989 way back in the way back. But I'm sure you know much more then me juice by you man you rock!

  • ahhaah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • It7s so nice playing this is like getting Steve's guitar tech to build you a guitar and set it up. I'm worried about the first string change and the intoneation and what not.

  • Look it up on-line, if you keep same gauge strings, changing strings is pretty easy. If you change the gauge (9's to 10's) then you have to mess with the anchor screws in the back to keep the bridge at the same height or it'll raise/lower depending on which way you change the strings. If it's already set-up, don't mess with anything else unless you know what you're doing or have someone who does do it.
