The atmosphere at Wrigley when the Cubs are winning is electric. That being said, you do have some real assholes on a regular basis at that park. And the park itself is a real dump. If you want to really enjoy a baseball game, go to U.S. Cellular. I'll enjoy the Cubbies on the tube. On a humid day, Wrigley stinks to high heaven.
Marty Brennaman is a very good announcer for the Reds for many years. He has seen a lot and reports it straight. He hit the nail on the head regarding Chicago Cub fans. It is so true that (some of them) are plainly obnoxious and don't care about winning or losing. That group just cares to drink. All I can say right now Cub fans you got your owner by the name of Ricketts and the club is going downhill because of injuries and inconsistent pitching; especially from the bull pen.

The Braves were playing the Brewers at the same time. The Cubs were winning and all of Wrigley Field did the tomahawk chop to cheer on the Braves as they watched the scoreboard. Believe me, there aren't any Brave hating Cubs fans. Not in Chicago at least.

I didn't realize that the Reds had fans. Everytime I go to Cincy to see the Cubs play we generally have the place to ourselves. Reds are hot right now but they will absolutely find a way to blow it. Finishing over .500 would be a huge accomplishment for that franchise.

If balls we're coming from all over the game would be delayed and the grounds crew would have to clean it up and thn he's like Here's Encarnacion yeah ok with 18 balls on the field? And Thom used to announce for the Cubs. He thought they were the greatest fans back then. Anything for ratings in Cinncinatti.

Yes it was way out out of sync but it was support, not really a mock.

@GreenDay1981 I can't recall seeing anything during the 2003 NLDS, but I specifically remember watching regular season games at Wrigley Field in 2007 when the Cubs were in a tight race with the Brewers. The Braves were playing the Brewers at the same time. The Cubs were winning and all of Wrigley Field did the tomahawk chop to cheer on the Braves as they watched the scoreboard. Believe me, there aren't any Brave hating Cubs fans. Not in Chicago at least.

The Cubs really do blow. At least when the Reds make it to the postseason they usually find a way to score runs. The Cubs have 6 total runs in their last 2 post seasons (6 games, 0-6, gone in the 1st round.), the Reds advanced to the NLCS the last time they were in the postseason. I didn't realize that the Reds had fans. Everytime I go to Cincy to see the Cubs play we generally have the place to ourselves. Reds are hot right now but they will absolutely find a way to blow it. Finishing over .500 would be a huge accomplishment for that franchise.

I'm sure lots of people loved it when concrete was falling on their head a few years ago. Cincinnati has 300,000 people in it's city limits, so 20,000 is like having 7% of it's population there every night. Chicago has over 3,000,000. I don't see 210,000 people piling into your bandbox "cathedral" to watch the Cubs

You must be kidding! They're both great sports, but most of the time in both sports is spent standing around. In foot ball, two guys touch the ball and most of the action is impertinent.

baseball>football...i say that cause football games are so boring to watch in person...with football you expect so much action, but you get a 2 second play, then alot of downtime for the huddle, play challenge, timeout, tv timeout, its marketed to be a more exciting game then it really is. Now baseball, you know its gonna be a paced game, so its expected, if you get a manager arguing with ump(its more entertaining than a FB coach throwing a flag). No TV timeouts. Football is fun on TV, end.

The problem is that Wrigley Field has become just another bar for awful people to go to on Clark street. Before going to Barley Corn or one of those other miserable places, they go to Wrigley, which is unfortunate for a stadium with such a rich history to be invaded by such idiots. And for those Cub fans who want to rip on other cities who have lack of attendance, don't act like at Wrigely it's not 20,000 fans, 10,000 tourists and 10,000 frat boys and sorority girls who don't care.

I don't think all Cubs fans are like this, I have alot of friends who are Cubs fans despite the fact I root for the Astros (I live in Chicago). However, Wrigley Field is notorious for obnoxious idiots, and Brennaman is spot on in terms of why people hate the Cubs. It's not the team, it's the fans. Look at this year with Milton Bradley's comments about racism in the stands or the guy who poured beer on Victorino's head on a fly ball IN PLAY. Stories like this are quite frequent from Wrigley.

I hate the effing Cubs and the invasion of their idiot fans every time they come to Citi Field / Shea Stadium. Cub fans are soooooo obnoxious, they are like a virus. Though I find Yankee and Phillie fans to be much more obnoxious, the Cubs are right up there. What a bunch of dirtbags. Wrigley Field sucks, the Cubs suck, Chicago sucks.....enjoy another century of losing scumbag Cub fans!!!

Chubs fans are retarded drunks who don't work and just spend every day at Chubly Field. I hate the Chubs and am so glad they won't be in the post season. Marty B is right on and I am proud he broadcasts for my team since most other announcers don't have the kahunas to tell it like it is. Marty never backs down and you know how he stands on a topic. I have always rooted against the Chubs and always will. I welcome any and all negative comments from Chubs fans.

No one said anything about a Billy Goat nub. Its a known fact that the cubs play way more day games than any other team in MLB and thats why they havent won in so long. If only Wrigley wasnt built in the middle of a neighborhood......

blah blah blah blah. Your just jealous cause Cubdom and Red Sox nation still have thier old ball parks and traditions. We are the only team that still plays 40+ days games a year, and that is probably why we havent won. If your teams had to play as many night then day games youd understand. but cardinals and Reds ownerships are just sellouts with fans who have no loyalties to thier teams. Burn.
