@jimrenkel IIRC, the film's director is a fan of Downfall parodies and considers them fair use, but the studios take a dimmer view and sometimes ask YT to remove them.

The studios may ask, but parody is specifically mentioned in definitions/explanations of fair use. The parodies have no ill effect on the sales of movie tickets or DVDS (they may even lead to an increase in sales, for example, if MyLatestEscape who did not know about "Downfall" before decides to rent it as a result of viewing this parody). YT may take it down, but more out of cowardice than need.
