Well I have a funny story about aim assist... except it was on Black ops.

Someone disabled aim assist and I noticed that I had been doing pretty bad in my recent games. This went on for a month. I noticed that if I wasn't dead on my bullets would miss, and the other guy would get an easy kill.

I looked at my options and found that aim assist had been turned off. I turned it back on in the middle of the game. I got an attack helicopter that game.

Just goes to show how much aim assist there is.

Not only is the mouse more accurate than the analog stick, when using mouse/keyboard, you never have to take your hand off of the mouse and therefore can press other buttons at the same time as you are aiming. With the controller, you have to take your thumb off of the stick if you want to jump, reload, switch weapons or melee.

Interesting. I play H2V with the controller myself and I've found that the auto aim thing throws off my aim and splattering attempts sometimes. But even though everyone says using the mouse and keyboard is better, I can never really get used to using them and I don't think my mouse is exactly the best anyway.

Theres a way to exploit this. When you join a game find a way to hold dnw the button that activates the flashlight in singleplayer. Tape it or something.Now you will be able to play with your keyboard and mose and still retain the autoaim. To make sure you did it correctly walk over a weapon, and if it says "Press X to switch for ....." you did it correcly.

@arcticf0x8 that would be true, actually it is true, the problem is that there is the whole issue with lag, which causes extreme inaccuracy because you must lead your shots. Normally, people use and associate joysticks and controllers with console games, which use a different type of game hosting than lets for example, Halo 1 for PC. However, if there was no lag, and if a mouse and keyboard was compatible with a console, then people would use it all the time, but there isn't so yea.
