These have been in service since the first gulf war. Nobody ever connected the dots it seems. The original version didn't fire a charge for mind clearing it just relied on the bear claws and shovel..... also the original version didn't have the turret... It was the base of the M1.. I mean.. its a nice vdeo but nothing new about it.
Actually they haven't, this is new gear for the Marine Corps though it has been in the works for a number of years. It's a cheaper alternative to the Army's Grizzly system. Little of the equipment is new; plows and the MICLIC and it's built on an M1 tank body.
Actually I'm a 19K and the orginal version of this vehicle was called the Panther II with mcb and a second called the Panther II with MCR.The Army gave up the design of the vehicles as they are effective but slow. The variation it is now a combination of the the Panthers with a turret capable of firing the a charge like the MICLIC wich is a forward clearing device. Sorry I tested all three vehicles at Aberdeen Proving grounds.. But I appreciate the fact that you are correct in some but not all.
If you're interested you can check it out by typing in M1 panther ii... I just double checked to see if it could be googled and it can.. If you want the link I'll send it to you as it was a good vehicle in my opinion. But at least a variation (which is better) is back in service.

These have been in service since the first gulf war. Nobody ever connected the dots it seems. The original version didn't fire a charge for mind clearing it just relied on the bear claws and shovel..... also the original version didn't have the turret... It was the base of the M1.. I mean.. its a nice vdeo but nothing new about it.

Actually they haven't, this is new gear for the Marine Corps though it has been in the works for a number of years. It's a cheaper alternative to the Army's Grizzly system. Little of the equipment is new; plows and the MICLIC and it's built on an M1 tank body.

Actually I'm a 19K and the orginal version of this vehicle was called the Panther II with mcb and a second called the Panther II with MCR.The Army gave up the design of the vehicles as they are effective but slow. The variation it is now a combination of the the Panthers with a turret capable of firing the a charge like the MICLIC wich is a forward clearing device. Sorry I tested all three vehicles at Aberdeen Proving grounds.. But I appreciate the fact that you are correct in some but not all.

i like the concept, i really do. this thing will save lives. however, i believe that there are some major flaws. namely fuel consumptiion. that thing is what, 20 tons heavier than an abrams? and that monster gets little mileage. i think this idea should be put on hold until we can maybe but a reactor or something on it, like an aircraft carrier or something.
