Largely overlooked by collectors Marx Trains have more play value than even Lionel.
Them damn things will run forever.. all jokes aside Louis Marx had a pretty decent line of products.
A local Train man here has some Dorfan that was Repowered by Marx, the Dorfan has the weight and with the added weight they run quite well pulling the Dorfan passenger cars.. He wants Some cash(200.00) for it I want it but iam having a hard time of letting go of the cash...becasue of every time i turn on the TV.
@MrHadley2011 Marx has a very good basic motor,it's often used for the basis of custom powered trains. As you say they run way better than they should for the price. Actually for 200 bucks, I'd rather have a nice boxed Marx set than some cobbled up dorfan stuff. I recently bought a boxed New Haven A-B set with the missile gondola car for 60.00 The missile car alone was probably worth that. The set was very good plus.-TM
