If people practiced a more sexually responsible lifestyle, there would be less unwanted pregnancies - therefore no abortion and women can be happy in the knowledge they didn't resort to murder. And if an "unwanted" pregnancy still results - even after studying sex education (abstinence works 100% if a person really applies themselves) - then there is always adoption. There are thousands upon thousands of loving, well-off couples who are unable to have children and would be glad to adopt.
If people don't want to have a child (or are concerned about overpopulation, as you seem to be HoneyBaby778) or if they are simply not ready to have a baby - then the answer is simple. People need to learn to be more responsible when it comes to their sexual lifes. You can't just have random reckless sex without protection or abstinence and still expect not to become pregnant. Here's the problem I have with that idea. Most women who get pregnant are already having sex. It isn't a hard concept to grasp. Condoms are also not very difficult to understand. The "education" I imagine you speak of is all about teaching kids the best ways to avoid the negative affects of promiscuity, which can't honestly be done. Birth control and sex is everywhere...more than 100 years ago. Responsibility is what's lacking.

In my experience schools do answer those types of questions, condoms are in every gas station bathroom, the internet and girl magazines talk way too much about sex including myths like the chlorine one. The the mind set that society has adopted that creates those situations. Schools handing out condoms only encourages the behavior...but yes, someone needs to look out for these girls and teach them first, morals and then the specifics.
Underage sex is also an issue of self-confidence and class. Many of the people I grew up with never thought they would amount to anything. The only thing to do was smoke & have sex.
If you love yourself, you tend to do fewer stupid things.
By addressing opportunities (such as seeing Michelle Obama achieve the highest levels of success), unwanted pregnancy will go down!

Sorry, I can't see that. Michelle Obama took her daughter to see Sex and the City. A movie about women in the city and their promiscuity. Her husband wants to make it easier and easier for even the youngest of girls to get cheaper and cheaper abortions. Provide them an easy out and support the behavior that puts them in that situation and they will go up. And besides, it isn't really the highest level of success for Michelle. She is successful...but not for this campaign.
Other than that I agree with the statement. I do not think Obama is the right man to facilitate that movement. I also feel I may have a very different opinion as to where the government (especially the federal government) fits into the whole equation. But your arguments are very reasonable. I appreciate that.

If people practiced a more sexually responsible lifestyle, there would be less unwanted pregnancies - therefore no abortion and women can be happy in the knowledge they didn't resort to murder. And if an "unwanted" pregnancy still results - even after studying sex education (abstinence works 100% if a person really applies themselves) - then there is always adoption. There are thousands upon thousands of loving, well-off couples who are unable to have children and would be glad to adopt.

In some ways, its gotten worse - as there are more cases of human trafficking every day. Deuteronomy 22:13-21 says if a man marries a girl and finds her not to be a virgin, then she is to be stoned to death. Not everyone who is pro-life (anti-abortion) has had an abortion, but nevertheless it is made up of women and men who've come from various beliefs and backgrounds (not all of them are religious) and of varying incomes. But the common shared knowledge we all share is that regardless, abortion IS the murder of an unborn baby and it IS wrong to kill an innocent baby.

Let's say an officer asks you "do you feel like hurting or harming yourself?" and if you answer "yes", they put you in restraints and although they dont put u to jail they send you to a mental ward to get help. So, (attempted) suicide is illegal, So in my opinion if the gov't step in in this case, they should do the same in the case of abortion!

I'm pro-life. Abortion is wrong, but people should find another way to get their point across - other than heckling someone on stage. I understand people's frustration over this issue, I get really angry over the issue of abortion, but heckling at a rally is not the right thing to do in my opinion...I can't stand it when abortion rights advocates heckle us either. I would rather see someone raise their hand and ask him a question normally and in a civil manner so that he will have to answer.

Here's the problem I have with that idea. Most women who get pregnant are already having sex. It isn't a hard concept to grasp. Condoms are also not very difficult to understand. The "education" I imagine you speak of is all about teaching kids the best ways to avoid the negative affects of promiscuity, which can't honestly be done. Birth control and sex is everywhere...more than 100 years ago. Responsibility is what's lacking.

When I was in high school, a friend of mine got pregnant because she thought she could not get pregnant in a swimming pool (ie, the chlorine would kill the sperm).
Stupid? Yes...looking back now.
Back then? Made sense to her. Besides, she heard it from someone that she trusted.
When schools do not provide the correct info and allow kids to ask such silly questions as the one about chlorine, kids make do with the information they get from other (poor) sources.
She was 14 years old!

I see where you're coming from. This is my take on it. The information is out there. Really not hard to get to. That is the actually the bigger of the problems. People do stupid things all the time. Parents are first. If mom, dad, grandma, aunt, etc. don't teach the basics and instill values the school can't do much. Everyone knows the risks. The quote I all too often hear is "we're going to do it anyway, why not give us the right resources." It's all about self gratification, defiance...

In my experience schools do answer those types of questions, condoms are in every gas station bathroom, the internet and girl magazines talk way too much about sex including myths like the chlorine one. The the mind set that society has adopted that creates those situations. Schools handing out condoms only encourages the behavior...but yes, someone needs to look out for these girls and teach them first, morals and then the specifics.

Sorry, I can't see that. Michelle Obama took her daughter to see Sex and the City. A movie about women in the city and their promiscuity. Her husband wants to make it easier and easier for even the youngest of girls to get cheaper and cheaper abortions. Provide them an easy out and support the behavior that puts them in that situation and they will go up. And besides, it isn't really the highest level of success for Michelle. She is successful...but not for this campaign.
