  • does the audience even understand what Frank is actually talking about?

  • I skipped class to witness this back in '84. Best choice I ever made.

  • Hello again, Hi! Let me know when I get annoying? This was 1984, I have Kind of infatuation for Dates. do you know the Date On this one and, The 1982 Radio Interview with Moon Unit. Thank you for you're time, much obliged.

  • @MrHideyoursheep Sorry I don't have the exact date for 1984 but it should be between Mid Nov to Late Dec.

the 82 one is on Thursday, 29th April.

  • Agreed, its a classic, classical routine. The students seem to enjoy the whole act, although at instances Frank was really blurting out the truth e.g when Frank talks about his association with classical music, almost none seem to understand what his music is all about .

  • What's hilarious about this, is that the audience totally loves every second of it. Portions of this speech are sometimes quoted to show how much Zappa was a rebel, as if he were "really sticking it to those academics right to their ugly faces!" But it's obvious that the people listening to him are huge fans, and the things he is saying are couched in such a fashion to get the biggest laugh from them. Though every word is from the heart, it's a contemporary music standup routine.
