  • I WANT ONE

  • Omg I want one! XD

  • That is the true meaning of STOL!!!

  • That is more dangerous than jumping from Empire State Building .

  • Psshhh! Screw gravity!

  • Thanks for sharing. Please see my epic 1st videos and donate to my cause if you feel bold and brave enough.

    blesses

    Arek

  • must be weights in the wings to steer

  • yabadabadoo

  • i dont think he's coming back unless he's migrating with geese

  • the thing looks like it could tip over at anytime.the pilot must have escaped from rampton.

  • dear santa.....

  • awsome

  • This is cool!

  • that is one dodgy aircraft, has the geezer flying it got a death wish. {is he still alive?}

  • that shit looks fucking dangerous

  • @atomikus37 WTF have to do with balls? Just plane dumb.

  • @nagrom355 thats easy too say behind your computer desk.

  • Does his life insurance agent know about this???

  • Jhurst111 your name has no sense by sis

  • It's my sister type one lar!!

  • Later he flies to the sun and burn his airplane and fall to the sea.Too bad!

  • @1shaneyeo your comments really make no sense at all

  • What if theres no more wind and he dies?

Stupid creation but cool to save energy

  • @1shaneyeo don't know much about ultralights, sailplanes, slope lift, slope soaring or aviation in general...do you. Now numb nuts go piss off and go get a fookin' education.

  • impresive

  • that's pretty impressive

  • muy bueno

  • ....and he was never seen again.

  • @Apolyion some say his corpse is still being flown today.. damn aircraft never stopped :/

  • amazing big zagi!!!!!

  • that is crazy cool!

  • why i need tickt

    if i have one

  • Balls... man... Balls...

  • This guy is going toi end badly.... :(

  • VTOL Glider? lol

  • That how we save the earth from running out of fuel in about 200years

  • Fred Flinstone?

  • I bet he died six minutes later.

  • That looks like fun ?! Haha that guy is cool :P

  • I flew hang gliders out in San Fran in the late '80s when the guys who developed the Swift were flying the prototype. Cool as shit. They were getting over 20:1 glide when we were barely over 10.

  • scary!!

  • yes, his balls are huge

  • what happen if u in the air and the wind just stop。。

  • @cDragonBallz wind doesnt just "stop"

  • wow

    haha

  • World's first VTOL glider!

  • Where headwind=minimum takeoff speed a fixed wing becomes a VTOL.

  • I think it was a little bit too windy to fly that day.

  • Hmmm so the Flintstones had gliders too, huh?

  • I KNOW what i want4 christmas...

  • @1234slipperyfish hhahahahahahaaha

  • @1234slipperyfish it's about 15k euros

  • Respond to this video... google swift hand glider

  • in fuckin credible

  • Comment removed

  • this explains the ufo sightings in the area but not the spaghetti moster

  • it's a Brightstar Swift

  • A glider with walking legs instead of wheels.....what will they think of next? LOL

  • Balls, some people have them.

  • FUNNY AS HEC!!!!

  • That thing looks sooo unstable.

  • Este tipo esta LOCO!!!

  • Who's last name is Beardo??

  • The flintstones got smart.

  • Far out.

  • that is the coolest thing iv ever seen

  • What kind of plane was that

  • @jackolabito A dangerous one! :oD

  • AWSOME ???

  • I've seen paper airplanes more stable than that thing. This guy must have massive balls or no brains. lol

  • @Devilock79 He uses his massive balls as a counterbalance.

  • @digitalbroadcaster

Haha, he must have! =P Bigger balls than me anyway, no way in hell I'd fly in that thing.

  • I like to see how he landing :-)

  • youd be pissed if ur going along fine and then the supports gave out and u fell out the bottom lol

  • They never saw him again...

  • That was cool.

  • MUUUM TAKE ME DOWN PLZ

  • what if he didnt mean to take off

  • Who is that to idiots !!!!!

  • siick o.O

  • That took some balls. If he got that thing pointed even slightly out of that strong wind it would have cartwheeled the whole shebang off to never land.

  • wheres the engine?

  • @drizzts11 Its a glider...

  • Смелый пилот . Необычный аппарат . И тяжелее воздуха!

  • bombs away

  • :30 Positive climb rate... Gear Up! LOL. I'ts a glider he is using thermal lift to gain alttitud.

  • @cyberyiyo dont think so, the video shows very strong winds...plus the weather it to cold and gloomy for thermals aswell. :)

  • @j4cko56 Well I'ts hard to tell climate on visual aspects. You don't need a shinny sun for heat. Soil variations also create thermal power. So I guess he used a combination of the wind and thermal to take off, but to achieve foward motion he definatley needs thermal. Again, I'm guessing =O).

  • @porkyminch01 kong pow reference! awsome.

im bleeding, that makes me the victor!

  • That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.....Just attach a parachute to the top...Just in case..I love things like this !!

  • A modified Hang glider I'm assuming...... High enough up not to fall to his/her death, and simple laws of gravity and aerodynamics keep him alive..... Still would be Scary as fuck though!!!!!

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • esse é o brinquedo dos meus sonhos.

  • Vertical mode activated !

  • he should strap a bike to the bottom of that and take off that way :)

  • KOOL MAYBYE SOME BETTER LANDING GEAR THOUGH THOSE TWIGS WILL SNAP IN A HEARTBEAT

  • damn awesome

  • wow !!! that was the most incredable vido I ever saw I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol i want one

  • @iSpeedeh LOL u got me cracking!!!!!!!

  • SWIFT glider.

  • That's really cool. :-)

  • thins thing is so awesome O-0

  • O_O WIN

  • it's a SWIFT by AERIANE made in swizerland...the most lighter and secure gilder in the world...

  • @johnmadox err.... it's made in belgium.

  • considering the strength of the wind this craft must be more stable than it looks. Brave chap indeed all the same. Skilled take-off.

  • i favorated this coz its mint

  • how do u get down?

  • That is just awesome... Looks fun.

  • Sweet!!!

  • how does it land?!:)

  • any more video footage of this remaining. I would like to see how it performed. I've been into RC aircrafts hopping to one day design and build my own. I'm wonder about unstable conditions that will make the craft roll on it's width axis. I made a wing with a swept design and was ok until stalls or non linear vectors that created more energy for a roll than directional travel.

  • Modified waterman W-1 arrowbile minus engine, trike landing gear and smaller vert stabilizers

  • beautiful concept!

    needs more longitudinal stability, obviously.

  • @qdparker oh yes, obviously....cock!

  • Archaeopteryx P2 E???

  • @jemwes12

iT4S a SWIFT an american hang glider now it's made by AERIAN in belguim exist with little motor to near 20000 eutros

  • yea i gotta agree that cant b safe Lol a gust of wind can just send u 2 hell

  • you can hear the strong winds blowing on the camera lol..

  • @XaircraftX still pretty bad =.=

  • hey what do these things called? it is a new technology right, tailless design..

  • @LTF85199

    Tailless is not new technology.

  • Qué bueno para tener uno de esos en la casa... La pregunta es... Como lo llevaron arriba de esa montaña?

  • Fk That!! ;-)

  • any plane with a glide ratio like this is really safe to fly,his take off method might not be for everyone.I think its called the Swift?

  • wow... it is my plesure to never FLY THAT ... how safe is that... lol

  • wow!

  • How can I contact with the inventor/ designer?

  • Comment removed

  • That can not be safe...

  • it costs $3592

  • Brilliant! - You have got to know what you are doing! Thanks for great Video.

  • want 1111111111!!!!

  • its not weird its just a hang glider done up

  • that guy better pray to god that he knows what the fuck he is doing.

  • @AvenueD417 - Hahaha I was thinking the same shit! haha

  • @AvenueD417 The only reason he'd better prey, is if he lets himself get lifted back, because his smooth lift is going to become turbulent sink very quickly, just past that crest.

The aircraft is called a Swift, and there are plenty of other clips of it up here on youtube. There's nothing wild or crazy about it, it works brilliantly. It's been around for years. You can also get a powered version, although that one gets a bit hard to foot launch or land.

  • @AvenueD417 From wikipedia-

The Aériane SWIFT (Swept Wing with Inboard Flap Trim) is an unusual family of aircraft. Originally conceived as a rigid hang glider with sailplane-like performance, it was designed by Bright Star Gliders in collaboration with engineers at Stanford University as a boomerang-shaped wing with fins at its tips.

  • @AvenueD417 (continued)

A number of different frames have since been fitted to it, to create a two-seat glider (the Tandem Swift), a self-launching glider (the Swift-PAS), and a motor-glider (the P-Swift). The basic Swift itself is marketed as a foot-launched sailplane, and claims to be unique in this regard. All of the various frames are interchangeable and any can be added to the same basic wing.

  • @AvenueD417 (continued)

Aériane first manufactured the SWIFT under licence, but as of 2004 is its only manufacturer. The firm has released a refined version of the wing as the Swift'Lite.

  • @AvenueD417 im sure he is well aware of his abilities, more than you know

prayer is not a necessity, only a luxury

  • Great :-)

  • omfg! lol

  • :P NOW how u gonnaa lanndd :P

  • waszak hit the nail on the head then....that looked a little bit wibbly wobbly

  • oook...FUCK THAT!

  • wtf how he gonna come back now

  • he has a wheel in the back, if you have a good flap set up you could land... but it'd be amazing to see that

  • Okay..that was cool!

  • dayum this is so tight i want one!

  • What was this a christmas present lol!

  • The way he sticks his legs up at the end...... his arse must get really cold when flying, no?

  • I prefer powered flight but this is impressive to see.

  • OMG!!! fiberglas"??

  • cool!

  • did u put this on the web so u can make all of us search the web for this air craft? its ssssssooooooo cool!

  • Where can I find this!?

  • lolit looks funny

  • that is so cool!!!!!

  • After 5 mins, the guy was found with a broken neck

  • You are so full of it lol

  • A larger model should be built. One for about 400 passengers. Sure, everyone's legs would be hanging out, but it would be 100 % more fuel efficient than any other airliner.

  • but what would we do when we have no thurmals over the sea?

  • well, thats a more officiont way of traveling, looks good for trans-atlantic flying as theres lots of wind above the

    atlantic ocean

  • duude! i want one like that!

  • nice plane :) how much it cost?

  • 5 dollars :) hahahahahaha

  • dude. . . WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? XD

  • Very flash !!!!! Are there plans available for this?

  • With winds like these, you could use paragliding.

It also makes getting the vehicle up on the mountain much much much easier...

  • looks like a nice effort of suecied method engineering.. heheh jus joking

  • that is not an aircraft..its a glider...
