  • Reminds me also of Batman in addition to Mega Man. Also, sweet parallax scrolling in Area B there. Always nice to see that in an NES game.

  • Iku Mizutani was a GENIOUS!

  • Thanks for bringing this memory back! :) α - α - β was my favorite. :)

  • wow i can remember playing this game at my friends house many many years ago. However the main character whas a cyborg and not human like in this vid. Kind of the same way we have contra and probotector on the snes. Damn, the memories... getting a serious hit of nostalgia here.

  • This reminds me of Ninja gaiden and Mega Man

  • Great game, very replayable. It has some minor problems with collision detection and jumping, but the robots help sidestep those issues, and health refills are scattered throughout the levels. (Some are hidden before bosses.)

I especially like how you can punch bullets out of the air, and punch the grenade guy's outstretched arm when he counterattacks. While these aren't necessarily good tactics, you feel like a total badass when you actually pull them off.

  • Shatterhand is such an awesomely fun and underrated game with an extremely good soundtrack. The only thing that bothers me about the game is the iffy jumping mechanics, but that's a personal issue. This is one of those games that people should try and make an attempt to play at least once.

  • Unmistakable Blue Shadow "successor". The sound alone is typical Natsume (who went on to make Harvest Moon).

  • One of the best NES games with great music! :) I love it!

  • I never heard of this until a few years back. Pretty damn awesome game.

  • FINALLY!
