This is an excellent song. The vocal performance isn't there, though, because it is too affected. You actually obscure the melody in parts with vocal tricks.

Sing it more straightforwardly. The vocal decorations should serve the song, not the other way around. If a guitarist unloads endless streams of 32nd notes in every song it soon becomes stultifying and like a circus animal act. The same is true of vocal tricks. Use them to pull the audience in and not just to show off.
