  • Hi I'm Sean. I'm twenty years old old and I don't really know what I just watched.

  • wow that would have so awesome to see young robin williams for the first time on tv or something, it's probably something you wouldn't forget

  • Its amazing how people would rather dwell on negative stuff rather then just lighten up and laugh. He's never hurt another person and his one perceived flaw is one that hit a lot of people in the 70's. The world needs more Robin Williams.

  • "the journalist"?!? Does anyone at the CBC remember who Peter Gzowski was?

  • @rombsy ..yeah I thought that to be odd as well considering how great Peter was.

  • He's such a lovable odd ball.

  • love it! lol

  • Pure GENIUS. Fucking funniest man who ever breathed terrestrial air. No words will ever sufficiently convey my sense of awe and wonder.

  • I can't believe you can't find cds of his early stuff. I had the albums and cassettes but wore them out from listening to them too much. ;)

  • ,,you can't expect any of these comedians, musicians, artists, ect. to change their act 180 degrees, it's just their personality, and Robin is still funny as ever only finding newer material as time changes, he's one of the few great ones left since the passing of Carlin.

  • Actually, I believe this interview is from 1977, because he was still doing "the New Laugh-In", and Mork was still only a guest shot on Happy Days...Both '77 references. His greater fame was still to happen.

You're right about the Theremin, his voice effects were marvelous!

  • listen to the precise sound of a "Theramin" at :50. He was sooo sharp at 26... I remember seeing him live in concert in '79. Already sold out after only 1 season of Mork.

  • Falou mal do Brasil, son of a bitch..

  • a true genius that genuinely wants to please

  • I love Robin, he's hot! He may be the ONLY male not required to bow down before me!

  • i wonder why he chose to make up a lie that he born in scotland early on in his career? amazing man tho!

  • He has been my favourite actor and comedian since I first watched Aladdin, and I'm only 18 so its been awhile lol. He is an amazing man, and I agree. I wonder why he would say that...I have his biography here on my lap and he was born in Chicago :P oh well, his choice really :)

  • all his stuff is crazy funny.,,i luv it.

  • i agree

  • @getoffTheDilz I don't think so, he's still like this now - I think it's just brilliance.

  • Golden years

  • He looked a lot older than 28.

  • I heard that he eventually came to resent being thought of as Mork.

  • Hey Headcase, apparently "spelling" isn't exactly your strong suit.

  • wow-pre creepy years of robin williams. from 90's on or so, he just seemed like he restraint his crackhead energy (it'd made more sense when you saw his dramatic roles, which he looked like he was gunna crack under that ear to ear smile he does, in which in those movies he did)

  • Peter Gzowski was a genious...R.I.P.

  • To this day Robin Williams is still the same, still the genius. Where does he get so much energy from?

  • Its called 10 tons of crack, 3 times a day before meals!

  • He learned improv under Del Close.

  • What's crazy is he still uses some of those jokes.

  • lol "if it was working you'd all be dead"

  • jim carrey of yester years...judging by the failure of yesman, looks like the real jim carrey is destined for the same fate

  • How is robin williams not successfull?

You wish you had half his money.

  • @NathanBForrest1776 Jim Carrey of yester years?...What does that mean? They're both still around and both still great. Is that the fate your talking about?

  • theyre both has-beens ... did you see Yes-man ? i had to put my hands over my eyes cause i was embarrassed for carrey. and robin williams has been over the hill since patch adams or dead poets society.

  • hey you know what i was born in that year of 1979 and the i was born in 21 July witch is the same birth day 4 Robin Williams

    wow

  • You and a million other people...

    wow

  • Robin Williams Movie formula

    =

    Give the man some Coke

    +

    Turn on Camera

  • oh no Robin Williams is coke.

  • the very best

  • This guy doesn't need a script in comedy films.

  • Happy Birthday!

  • One of the funniest people ever, period.

  • He looks so young!

  • He was young here - about 26-27.

  • I've seen guys on coke and they don't do what Robin does... it'sa parathyroid thing I think.

  • yeah, he actually used coke to slow himself down.. opposite of what generally happens to people, obviously.

he said it gave him time to breathe, or... not talk.

    interesting shit

  • yes especially since you made it up

  • FUCK!!!!!!!! HE'S FAST!!!!

  • That's what she said ;)

  • people of earth lol.

  • So much cocaine. So damn funny. I'm conflicted now.

  • Wow! Robin was so young...and thin!!!

  • Where was he born, and where did he grow up?

  • Chicago. ;)

  • Where he grew up? I don't think he ever will grow up. That's what makes him grate ;)

  • Grates are used in front of ventilation shafts.

    I find that funny.

  • Your right... it really is funny hahaha. Didn't notice that :D

To think a simple thing like writing to fast on the keyboard and not looking at the screen can make someone smile. It's easy to make a smile :)

  • lol

  • Cocaine is amazing!

  • Funny stuff

  • oh me he didnt come from scottlannd it was just a joke

    lmao

  • ROFL, couldnt keep my damn mouth closed. Where has he been all that time?!

  • I didn't think people knew what a microwave was in 1979. I guess they did.

  • That was hilarious. And the part where he talks about him as a kid was interesting.

  • just wondering was this filmed in 1978 or 1979?

I'm pretty sure he did an appearance in April 1978, so i'm wondering if this is before or after that show? Would you have that footage? He had his rainbow susbenders on then. Just wondering. Going to see him at Massey Hall this week, can't wait.

  • Coked to the gills.

  • Coked? what's that mean?

  • As in "coked-up" ie. under the influence of cocaine. It has been documented that Williams was a cocaine addict in the late 70s, early 80s. He quit after his friend, John Belushi died of a speedball overdose (heroin and coke injection). "Cocaine is God's way of telling you, you're making too much money," Williams once quipped.

  • He hasn't changed a bit.

I just watched his interview with David Letterman on 09/04/08

    He really hasn't changed.

  • wow does this ever bring back memories

  • big humour

  • Kewlios

  • Peter Gzowsky, man do I miss him
