@saskenarutokakashi There is a model called B156HW01, also from Au Optronics that has same 40pin connector at the same place, same size panel.. It's $109 bucks online. I'm buying it and will try to replace it.
@darkdvr So did it work? Did it recognize the screen and give the option to display at higher resolution, any issues with Nvidia mobile drivers. Really interested in your results, Thanks.
@cirozorro As a mentioned here, they split the 40pin cable into 2 - 10pin and 30pin. 10 pins go to webcam, 30 go to screen. Since this is how mobo is set up to send the signal out, and you can't have a 30pin HD screen, this screen cannot be upgraded to a higher resolution one =(
@darkdvr Tried it already. Doesn't work. Turns out that they're using 10 pins out of 40 for a webcam. And you simply can't have HD data flowing through a 30-pin cable.

Hi can you tell me if the original screen brightness is bright or is it a dark or darker than usual.
Looking for a screen that has great brightness, it seems that LED screens tend to be darker than the old style LCD screens.
Thanks let me know

@ESHQEncoding LED screens are actually brighter. You may need to adjust the brightness controls.
