Criminals do not use them because they cost $3,000 to $10,000, are generally about 4 feet long, weigh and average of 40 pounds, fire ammo that costs around $5/round and are extremely loud when fired. In other words, they are simply not practical. Its also not true that a .50 can take out a tank. Laws such as this are solutions in search of problems.
