  • my nara nads jajajaja

  • REDNECK :)

  • best car

  • what is being whispered at 2:52???

  • I cut the mufflers off of mine and cut the resonator off. I left the cats on and it sounds great. I ran straight pipe, I plan to cut the the cat that joins the pipes in a couple of days, im not going to run any flowmaster.

  • it sounds decent....but ditch your cat. converter and run your pipes from the manifold back, my opinion use 2 1/4 diameter stainless steel pipe.....throw in some good flowmasters and keep the pipes short, stop them right after the muffler...just behind the front seats, hook the tips down towards the ground...keeps your compression up and the less bends you have the better the exhaust can flow....straight pipe wouldn't do you any good on a stock engine...good luck...nice cougar

  • i putting a new manifold in on mine. if it would fit, would my car seize or stall if i used a larger pickup truck intake manifold on it?

  • the stock exhaust is welded on. it is on my cougar atleast, mines a 97. i had to cut mine off too, to put new mufflers on. i didnt leave it straight pipe.

  • It sounded better before.

  • wow! ive never seen some one so happy as this guy cutting his mufflers off

  • @gotomgo69 i was happier when i did mine

all that loud voice i was annoying every one and some of them liked it

but my dad was super mad when he heard it

  • is the exhaust on these cars true dual or is it a y pipe that goes into those two mufflers?

  • @CrownVicRyda1 Its an h-pipe if i recall correctly.

  • @CrownVicRyda1 Y pipe

  • wtf did he say at the end? lol

  • @joe735 my nuts are nice, rofl

  • please fix your description.

  • @him89 You noticed that too, huh? xD

  • sounds cool but why not just by tips and shit to get the same resuly instead of cutting a ruining it?

  • @mikefoust09

because u needed to remove mufflers before the tips since the tips just add look not sound

  • oo really? u have to remove the manifold as well?

  • @mikefoust09 well buying a tip will do nothing but add some cheesy chrome. In order to changew the sound u must remove the mufflers or replace them with ones meant to be loud. this is the ghetto method but it works lol

  • what pattern was the stock exhaust?

    y, x , h straight pipe

  • WOW! This Mother fucker sounds gud!

  • That sounds surprisingly good for just cutting the mufflers off, I expected it to be raspy.

  • is that the 3.8 V6?

  • gee idk it says 4.6 in the title so what do you think

  • YEAH, cut it thats it

  • i got a 93 but dont work needs a fuel pump

  • question, so i just bought a 97 merc cougar. and that has a mean sound to it not gonna lie. is that really all you gotta do to get it? cut the two mufflers off and leave it?

  • Now cut the 3rd catlyic converter off and weld a glasspack/ cherrybomb muffler where the cat was then weld straight pipe out the back with chrome tips and it will look and sound mean as can be!

  • hell i dont knw why people just cut stuff off i bout a programer for mine and just welded in cut outs right after the manifolds lol

  • Damn straight, when you take off the cat, it sounds wayyyy better. I tried it on V6's and V8's. I've also watched Youtube videos of I4's with no cats. Always sounds better. As long as you replace it with some pipe or a resonator, your torque stays the same.

  • 4.6L SOHC Modular V8's sound so fuckin good!

  • my muffler on my 95 3.8 was clanking against my frame so bad i had no choice so my buddy cut it off and ran a straight pipe and put a resonator on the end, it sounds much better and my engine runs smoother now.

  • And you also don't have a v8 like the Poster has. anything past 97 got the crappy 2.0 4 banger or a Duratec 2.5L Sixer. The owner of the white one you see in the video has a cheap fix for a stock granny sounding car. I am doing the same on my 4.6L Thunderbird in the near future.

  • hahahahahaha, i have a 2000 mercury cougar, i put Kool Vue pipes on that.. your shits weak, get the real deal like me.

  • Hmm what if I tacked on a set of super 44 flowmasters? I like the more agressive sound. Check out TCCoA if you're not already a member.

  • since ive done the exhaust on my 1997 my gas milage has improved about 40kms to the tank, not to mention sounds loads better, especially with the 3rd catlytic convertor deleted

  • dude, you don't have to shove the saw that hard. take your time and let the saw do the work.

  • You would get worse hp because thers not back pressure on the valves

  • GAY!

  • if u cut the mufflers and cats off shouldent u get better gas milliage, hp, and torque, beacause the engine can breeth better?

  • but you really gotta set the fuel to run at the new back presure.

  • hey, i have a 94 cougar 4.6 v8 , will it sound like that if i do the same thing

  • yeah...

  • did anyone lose gas milage outta of this??

  • you would either get the same or a lil better...

  • wow super idea super car

  • just did this about 10 minutes ago on my 95 n it sounds pretty good but not quite as loud, maybe its got to do with the cat converter in the middle of the car. idk, anyone else got any ideas?

  • diffrent engien?

  • nope same 4.6

  • yeah i have a 95 cougar with a 4.6 and i took off the exhaust right after the cat. and then i cleaned my cat out and put the exhaust back on and cut the mufflers off and it did a hell of a job. i got about 25 hoursepower gain but i lost a little bit of touque. but it will be louder if you do that.

  • @B3AN40 thats not a cat converter its a resonator i had a 90 t bird 3.8 v6 cut the muffler off and split out the back duals n left the resonator in the middle of the car sounded good not loud but dep & throaty dint effect gas mileage at all or at least not noticeable by much

  • Just did the same thing yesterday. You lose lowend tourque however. I am not sure about hp gain though. I would imagine you would gain a few. It sounds much better for the time being until I get a full exhaust done. Side note add an 18" pipe to the exsiting cut pipe so that the heat does not get to your bumper and undercarriage.

  • i kinda did the same with my old 95 cougar. i true dual'd it and cut all that useless shit out at the front, cept the 2 cats, took out that 2 into one big ugly fuckin thing and the resonator and ran it through the factory muffs at the back.. that just sounded fuckin weird so i took them out after too. it was still quiet in that thing but apparently it was loud outside the car. only thing i didnt like about the car was the gearing. geared WAY to high. but it was surprisingly good on fuel.

  • sorry that you like the sound of a weed eater

  • nice 1... i gotta 96 xr7.. still have the exhaust mans (for now).. but replaces everything else 2.5 pipe true duals all the way back/magnaflow cats/magnaflow x-pipe/and flowmasters... i see now i went through way too much trouble... wish id have thought of that lol

  • hahaahah

i did this same thing back in highschool to my cougar. i rolled around like that for about a week before i decided it was only a mattter of time before i got pulled over and slapped with a fatty ticket.

so i went out and got cat back true dual 2 3/4 piping runnin back to dual 40 serises Flowmasters

    muuuuuuuuuuch better now

  • Haha, this video reminds me of something I'd do - nice 'n' dodgy!

  • How much power do you guys think he would gain from having no exhaust? "On Average"? Thanks, cool vid

  • 10-15 maybe 20 horses more.

  • 5 at most

  • you obviously have no clue about what an exhaust does do you??? retard. example on my old 90 cougar xr7 i had stock exhaust it put down a lil over 200rwhp after i did the same thing this guy did we had it dynoed and i had a gain of 13rwhp! 213rwhp 227rwtq. then i got a cold air intake and a tune and that bumped it up to 236rwhp and 242rwtq. later i saved up and got a smaller pulley for the supercharger and it was close to 13psi and it put down 261rwhp and 271rwtq i have all the dyno sheets!

  • clue a 1990 cougar... with an OBD 1 computer! cars with OBD II will have minimal gains, because the computer will compromise to keep the engine running in stock specs

  • i figured you would come up with some shit. i also own a 93 T-bird with a 5.0 and it put down 198rwhp 236rwtq bone stock. did this to it and it put down 209rwhp 243rwtq i also own a 95 lincoln mark 8 that is anything but stock and i'm just shy of 400rwhp. don't even give me shit about these cars man. i have owned plenty of them.

  • yah? i had a 91 mark VII with a 5.0L, a 92 mustang 2.3L turbo, 97 courgar 3.8 s/c and i have never seen any sort of improvement on the drag strip with just an intake and exhaust.

  • that sucks for you because i have!

  • i agree with ChronoCrossKid i used to have a 93 t-bird, and chopped the exhaust experimenting with hp and what not, and man i love the sound but not much of a power gain, now i dnt have dyno sheets to back anything up but i do know that it wasn't no 20 hp gain thats for sure, the main thing was the throttle resposne being quicker

  • boyyyy this bitch sounds like a beast!

    i love this sound!

  • is that the y pipe? if so u need to strap that bitch in lol

  • u should have cut th cats off too that sounded not so loud for a 4.6

  • OH yEA!!! haha nice! i like how u showed urself hacking em off :P way 2 go man! :D awesome! now get some flowmaster Super 40's and ur good 2 go with that coug.

  • I like that you showed cutting them off and all haha

  • lol t malade :P pas mal plus beau dememe mais pas sur les cochon sont d'accord

  • cest des bonnes idee quon a la!! dire e ste char la fesait pas de bruit; tu es incroyable
