And it's gentle and filled with love, not the fire and brimstone hate-filled embodiments of Christianity so prevalent today... this music is the real thing, the real spirit of love. Bach's music is so much closer tot he truth than the words of any preacher man claiming to know the will of God.........
This is because Bach was a Lutheran (as am I~ ^____^ ). People who speak of fire and brimstone are those who want to put the fear into the hearts of men rather than what they should preach; that is the love, grace, and forgiveness of Christ. Christians should not hate man but forgive man, should be loving to their neighbors and love those who hate them as Christ has love and forgiven them.
I'm Christian yes, but I follow Lutheran theology~yes, which means that what I confess is bible based (did you know that about lutherans?). lol~ I lead a youth bible study at church :D I also agree that ilkinond should take a second look at the bible~!
Every time I hear this wonderful piece of music, it makes the world seem a grandly joyous place, it eternally renews afresh my faith in humanity, and fills me with wonder at the glory of the white race.
@ChristFavorsME wtf? faith in humanity? yet you would deny non-whites their humanity. this 'grandly joyous' world needs no people like you in it. you diminish all that is good, all that bach gave praise to in this piece. you are a waste of space.
Ich kann diesen Menschen Bach nie verstehen. Jeder narmale Mensch wird doch verrückt wenn er sein Leben so schwer gemacht bekommt ......... und er komponiert immer weiter - selbst im Gefängnis!
Hoffman says it's important to remember that -- unlike the classic portrait showing Bach as "bewigged, bejowled, stout and stolid" old man -- the composer was once "a handsome, dashing guy." Much of Bach's best-loved music, including the Brandenburg Concertos and the pieces for solo violin and cello "were written when he was a young man in his 30s," Hoffman tells Edwards.
Hoffman makes that point in the following essay, appropriately titled "Johann Sebastian Bach Was Handsome Once":
@alonelychild Why would Angels sing into bach's ear's ? That doesn't even make sense from a Christian point of view. or in any other religious way, and do note that Angels literally means " messenger of god "
Why would gods messengers Sing into the ears of pop musicians ? back then Bach were nothing more then a popular mainstream well known composer. He even took full credit saying he's the Composer, when he in reality stole the idea from Gods messengers? get a grip :)
@mukkohaha It's just a figure of speech. There are countless religious metaphors such as "God given rights" and "Acts of God" or "Gift from God" being something really awesome or "thank God", etc.
@mukkohaha Actually Bach wasn't really that popular at all during his lifetime. His contemporaries such as Handel and Telemann were much more well known. In fact Bach only got some of his jobs because Telemann didn't want them! His music only started to revive during the 18th century. And I think that regardless of where Bach got the idea, it doesn't take away from the beauty of the music or that fact that any god should be happy with music like this in their honour :)
Dear, I would appreciate a lot if you send me information about the album from which you copied this impressive combination of blessing sounds, please.
I love this version! I think it's way better than the rest, dont know why, it might be the strings at 1:19 that have me hooked

@ilkinond is that why they tortured "heretics" and burnt so many people at the stake during this music's time period? =D
