They play it different because the solo is the moment where the musicians can actually use their creativity as musicians, on concerts! Did you ever stop to think how many times they play the same songs each year? As much as we like it, they get tired of it and need to make it diferent to keep enjoying playing them, and to try to express themselfs for the audience in that moment.

awesome band,i love john,the riffs he writes for many songs are quality.....but his solos's live are poor compared to the cd(which are emotional and stunning) but especially on the slane castle dvd,he tends to make stuff u on the spot and it dont come off........but that being said the solos were better on this vid :),anyone who makes up a riff like cant stop and zephyr cant be short of genius

the first time i saw the peppers it was their last gig with john, they played in my hometown (reading) and i had bought a £80 day ticket to just go to see them. i was 13 and totally in love with every one of them... i now have frusciantes name tatted on me and i still chase up every old live video i can.

Wow, this is their last performance of Scar Tissue live with John EVER! They played 1 more gig after this (Leeds festival) and I was there! And Scar Tissue was not on the set list unfortunately.

Maybe that's why John's end solo and their little jam outro bit are so full of pain and tiredness, cause they're sick of playing it! It must get annoying after playing it every night for almost 2 years straight.

None the less we miss you John, much love and stay healthy!

Actually scar tissue at slane castle was better. I feel so sorry for Anthony. It is hard for him to sing his best because he gets so nervous and he just wants to make good music and make everyone happy. I try not to base a performance on the vocals, but this may be his worst performance I've seen. Sorry guys, just my opinion. On another note, activision sort of leaked rhcps new album release time, which is in early to middle 2011. Good news though! Rhcp guitar hero after album!
