@barronzaren That's the moon rocks gel. It allows you to shoot Portals even on non-portal conducting surfaces, like the black ones.

@At7commando what if it only had a small amount of gel and you had to keep going back to a tube to refill and in some tests there would be no tube so no refill if you run out(that is how it would not be so easy in a test)

What happens if one of the cubes gets covered in gel? Also, if there was some sort of cool sound effect, and the function kassidynet suggested about activating them with lasers, it'd be cool to see these in a custom map.

It's a good alternative to the guy who made a paint gun. His only problem was that you couldn't use a Portal gun or switch it out for one.  This would fix that problem.

like at the end when the gel was shooting upwards out of the cube?

It may defeat a sense of realism (???) but I think... it might actually be possible for the repulsion-gel-cube to be set to not 'bounce'? That might solve your "too blue" problem ^^'
