  • @SJURedmenFan the system before was even worse ahahahaha thats why they switched to the bcs college football fans are never fucking satisfied

  • i would have to say KSU is probably the only college football team that looks good in Purple.

  • The Fiesta Bowl just isn't the same since they moved it out of Sun Devil Stadium... Why the heck did the AZ Cardinals have to get a freaking dome? Open air stadiums are so much nicer.

  • @TideatMileHigh I don't know if you know this, but it is a retractable roof stadium. It's just that they keep it closed most of the time probably out of convenience for everyone because of the dry desert conditions.

  • Imagine if they played that game in Syracuse.

  • Kansas State kicked their asses if i remember correctly

  • Kansas State won 35-14 over Donovan McNabb and the Syracuse Orangemen

  • @dpinzow 35-18. I was there.

  • If they get rid of the BCS system, I hope they replace it. The bcs has created a lot of intriguing matchups that wouldnt have normally happened.

  • yeah, I hope it does dissolve soon, so ESPN will not ruin the Orange, Fiesta, Sugar, Rose and Cotton Bowl's legacies when they are set to get the contract in 2011.

  • I don't think ESPN can ruin the bowls, Fox is already doing a pretty good job of ruining it themselves. And I do think the BCS will be done away with at some point and a that a mini-playoff system will be installed.

  • How are they ruining it?

Still I think there is a certain prestige that is lost when a bowl that was previously over the air gets bumped to cable, even if it is ESPN. The Cotton Bowl should have been up there with Rose, Sugar and Orange.

  • True. What I really meant is more that Fox is horrible than that ESPN should have them. CBS & ABC would be better for the major bowls than Fox. The announcers and game presentation on Fox is horrible imo.

  • Do you believe that if the Bowl Coalition and the Bowl Alliance can be dissolved, but the BCS can as well?

  • yea next is the playoffs

  • you are right about that.

  • Michael Bishop vs. Donovan McNabb. I thought BOTH these guys would be top flight NFL QB's and this was expected to be a BLAZING game...but Bishop's team was better. And the bowl alliance sucked just like the BCS sucks

  • I am not familar with the Bowl alliance can someone fill me in on what the Bowl alliance was? I take it this is what they called it before they installed the BCS right

  • so thats the last time Kstate was 10-1...lol

  • No, it wasn't

  • Actually no.

  • lol, Tommy Bowden at 1:03....

  • What is an alliance bowl? This was the year before BCS, right? So was this the name of a bowl or the weird national championship format that I don't remember?

  • It was essentially the BCS without the Rose Bowl

Before it was the Bowl Coalition

  • yeah, but it didn't pair the #1 vs. #2, it was just used to make sure the national championship was determined in a major bowl, but i believe the Rose Bowl was involved in this.

  • Jersey's not tucked in = love

May the 90s live on forever :)

  • Syracuse was stupid for getting rid of Pasqualoni..what have they won since he left? Greg Robinson is an idiot and on top of that he can't recruit.

  • like you could do better? Schmuck!

  • Plus Donavan McNabb started at QB in this game

  • ...still gives me chills, the music that is.

  • Oh, and by the way, I think CBS does a hell of a lot better job at doing the SEC than FOX does with the Bowl Crap Series. I am NOT an SEC fan but it's undeniable...that theme music means another great SEC game.

  • i wish CBS would start covering games across the nation, not just the SEC.

  • no cbs blows, we need abc sports college football coverage back

  • The Bowl Alliance is the same idea as the current BCS, but didn't include the Rose Bowl. It guaranteed top 2 teams in nation to meet in an Alliance Bowl as long as it wasn't the Big 10 or Pac 10 Champ who would have to go to the Rose Bowl because they were not in on the agreement. In 98 current BCS was formed as the Rose Bowl finally agreed to let Big 10 Pac 10 champ to play in a now guaranteed 1 vs 2 championship game if needed and would rotate with the other BCS Bowls to host the champ game

  • 20 years and CBS hasn't changed this classic intro. That is good. At least one network still gets something right. You listening, ABC and ESPN?

  • theirs are good, this one is tied but if i had to pick, it's better

  • abc had a good one until espn took over and got rid of it.

  • the ill fated Bowl Alliance. I had almost forgotten that CBS had that deal for a couple of years that, if my memory serves did not include the Rose Bowl. I think that worked out as well for them as those few years they had the world series in the early 90's.

  • Classic

  • what does he mean alliance bowl game?

  • the alliance bowls was the last system before the current BCS. it was similar to the BCS, but not completely the same.

  • yeah, it didn't have an actual national championship game, it just made sure that the top two teams played in major bowl games against high ranked opponents.

  • Do you still have your original video tape of this intro?

  • yea

  • Could make me a copy on Digital8 tape if you have the means?

  • The Lynch Mob back is coming in 2007!

  • LOL @ McNabb. LOSER!

  • shut up...your the real loser

  • So does this mean a KSU football video every day leading up to kick-off against Auburn??? Please say yes!!!!!
