  • I had the same with my scooter a week ago. Hate it.

  • Were you allowed to ride the track again after the crash or did they remove you for the rest of the season bro?

  • @Unity0Is0Power They didn't have to remove me - I broke my handlebar and footpeg. If you're bike is still safe to ride Knockhill will let you back on the track unless they think you're being such an ass that you're a danger to others.

  • If I as riding a bike as quick as yours, on that track, in the wet, I would have crashed well before you did.

Might actually have slung it into a ditch on the way to the track.

That's if I made it off my drive without incident.

Fell off one of my bikes once in my garage when my shoe lace got caught in the foot peg and I couldn't put my foot down.

    :0/

  • We've all done something similar to that. The bike was just a 1991 CBR600, nothing too rapid. ;)

  • @madeupname37 I can relate to that! Very funny The wet scares me!

  • @eyeeyeful

Me too... watching these wet vids to see what I can do but I don't think this is helping!

  • @petkicker Ignore this one then! You just need to be smooth and try to relax and you'll be fine. If you can get a set of wets on track you'd be amazed how grippy they are.

  • 2:02 - mONEY sHOT

  • looks expensive

  • Not as bad as you'd think. The R&G crash bung saved a lot. I needed a new clip-on and lever, right hand foot peg and a new R&G. Other than that I got away with it.

  • and what kind of tyers where u running? and what group were u in? cause even in the rain the guy in front of u had horrible BP and that is just asking for a low side right there... i am shocked he didn't go down riding strait up and down like that

  • I was on brand new BT020s, barely scrubbed in. It was very very early in my track riding life, (and in Graham's, the guy riding ahead of me).

  • Nice one, still a pty about the rain , a very good 7/10 for the slide, a dismal 2/10 for the lack of cursing and expletives :)

  • The cursing came later. ;)

  • Live and learn. I didn't see tha tcoming there thou. Tab much right hand? Bike sounds good thou.

  • Well youve got the balls to do it mate and a track crash like that would be a nice slide in the wet, nice one 5's

  • Darn ... horrible conditions ... We get our fair share of rain in Holland too , so I know what that is like.. ;)

Good ride mate , and you know how it works with youtube.... lots of comments and everyone knows better..... haha....

  • Was on standard road tyres mate, and my second time on track, so not feeling all that confident. Did pass all my mates though. lol

  • i was the way the guy went round the corner wen goin round a crorner yuu stay at the outside not the inside unless ur at the hairpin i go 2 knockill evry weeknd cause of ma da racin and on trackdays pleople on road bikes r always the1ones that fall of all am sayin is its the way yu drive the bike and ur tyre pressures need 2 b right of yuu bounce round the corners ive seen some 1 fall of cause of that and its sore:( and yes am only 13 and i no about bikes lol :D

  • boom

  • im sure the tires was not the problem, when driving on wet you need to adjust suspensions, and unless you have competition wet tyres I say you did nothing wrong, even the sligthes mistake like reaceleration can slip, its very hard

  • Even when im not on a race track...On the road i have tyres at the right pressure, Pleanty of tred in em.... and yet - lean slightly around a corner and i start to feel my front wheel begin to slide - scary stuff

  • Well one thing that makes your bike feel like that is you being tense. Which makes you tense... which makes the bike feel like it's going to slide... etc. Generally speaking you have more grip in the wet than you think you do.

    Obviously there are exceptions! lol

  • lol the wheels actually slid out.... lol...Maybie im countersteering too much around a corner... I was just lucky not to crash :-D

  • Good for you getting out there in the wet!

When I was doing my first wet track day there was a guy on a motard with rain tires...it was amazing how far he was leaned over and the lines he was taking...simply amazing!

That one turn you took at :58...if it was to lose traction i would have thought it to be there...

  • What kind of tires were you running?

  • I was on Bridgestone BT020s, and they're usually excellent in the wet. To be fair that pair were very new and didn't have much chance to scrub in properly in those conditions.

  • The wets lethal and boring

  • Nah, the wet can be fun too. You just have to approach it the right way. Oh, and if you've got full wets on the track.... those guys go FAST.

  • Fun vid to watch.Hope you and your bike are ok.

  • We were both alright at the time (barring a broken handle bar and foot peg). Since then I've moved to a FireBlade, after writing off the CBR600 on the road, with the help of a flaming great pothole!

  • very strange dunno what happened there mate ? oil on track maybe bike wasnt even leant over

  • shocked,i cant beleive the bike went down like that, didnt seem like you did anything wrong. Great onbike camera work too.

  • That's a shame, mate - it looked like you were riding well up until then. Still, as long as you walk away you always laugh about it later ;-)

  • easy done with someone slower in front.....

  • The back spun up ?

Its clear the front wheel slid under nothing to do with the rear.

  • Honestly? I'm not sure. I think I went a bit too tight, where there used to be a dip in the tarmac, and opened the throttle a bit early.

  • Looked like back spun up a little and then you shut off, Easy done. Smoothy smooth at all times but more so in the wet.. =)

  • Yes, you've got that right! Live and learn, live and learn.

  • What happened?? you fell off on the easy part

  • Unlucky fella. Maybe see ye there this summer.

  • I went tight, thinking I'd pass my mate. There is a small dip there which unloads the tyres and some scarring from the cars - I guess I must have hit that as I opened the throttle. Broke the right footpeg and brake lever, but the R&G saved the rest (it looked as though it had saved those too until the bike slid over the kerbing).

  • Ouch, Didn't look like you went off line though. Any injuries/match damage?

  • Don't think I'll be taking the Blade out in conditions like that. It's more expensive for a start. lol

  • Easy done in the wet, good on you for going out in the usual knockhell weather!!

  • oops

  • rofl

  • Gee thanks! lol

  • haha
