  • Actully dolphins arent very play full... or "funny" they are extremely smart and they hate all that playing and games they are a part of. We see them smile all the time, well actully its just their face. Please.. Stop this dolphin cage! i fucking hate thoes who keep dolphins and "circus animal" .. i really hate people who thinks its lovely to use thoes great creatures... Just stop this. Watch "The Cove" and you get the point. Like this to spread the word. "STOP DOLPHIN ABUSE!"

  • Imagine if Dolphins became vain & body concious, like us.

  • I WANT A BABY DOLPHIN!

  • i <3 Dolphins! i have the book dolphin tale not done with it but i want to see the movie! so bad!

  • Dog: (looks in mirror) GRR! A dog!

Cat: (looks in mirror) Ugh...a cat.

Dolphin: (looks in mirror) Lookin' good!

  • they can't use and create tools -> they are not human-smart

  • @idontknowwhatnicktou They *can* pick tools needed for a certain job, and *use* those tools effectively. Whether that means they are "human-smart" (now there's a contradiction in terms), is an entirely different discussion.

  • @idontknowwhatnicktou Actually, they do use tools. They just don't make any of their own, outside of a ring of bubbles to play with. But, hey; if you didn't have any hands, you wouldn't be doing either.

  • @idontknowwhatnicktou well they don't bomb each other either so maybe their intelligence surpasses ours?

  • @Taylor13371337

Their intelligence certainly surpasses that of people responsible for modern USA foreign policy, but I wouldn't generalize it on the whole humanity. Wars were often a rational behaviour until at least 20th century.

  • My cat looks at himself in the mirror all the time... It doesn't look like he thinks it's a separate animal.. Maybe my cat's just really smart?!

  • i wonder what they'd do if they had hands

  • @bonoboperson and opposable thumbs ... .

  • This video is awesome. And makes us realise that they belong in the wild

  • Awe Inspiring,Humans aren't the only intelligent species on earth,we are pretty dumb for not realizing this.

  • Cats probably dont care

  • ...& i eat fish O.O

  • This is how dolphin fashion starts....

  • It's so funny seeing the dolphins smiling, posing, and making faces in the mirror - just like humans do! Dare I say that dolphins might also have an ego?

  • All very interesting, but dolphins should not be kept in captivity like this. The cruelty of such places is well documented. No animals should be kept in such captivity and used for our entertainment. The fact that they are so intelligent makes their imprisonment even less acceptable.

  • @bullyweeclive Most dolphins and whales kept in captivity are well cared for. Their trainers love them and the aquariums do all they can to meet the needs of these intelligent animals. It's also, unfortunately the only way many people will ever see and learn to appreciate these creatures. The existence of aquariums allows the public to be educated, and for tests and research like this to be performed. Research that goes a long way to protecting the species in the wild.

  • like women. they just cant stop looking in the mirror...... give them some makeup and its hours..... vanity is a terrible thing! lol

  • My cat payed a lot of attention to the mirror. I think that after a certain time she realized it was herself she was looking at

  • @MissPirate29 lol

  • why whisper?

  • @jaydenakasha i'm guessing because the dolphins might be able to hear them and they're worried that would affect the experiment. sound travels better, so to speak, through objects and water than air so i bet they'd be able to hear them pretty well inside that tank, but i'm no expert on dolphin hearing so i don't know for sure!

  • They should stick the two way mirror straight into the aquarium. It'd be so interesting observing how they react to it. c:

  • @sukiyumi101 Since they'd be able to view from both sides

  • they are the cutest things on the planet amsdlkasmd <333

  • I love they 'pushing' each other to in front of the mirror, just like us humans do when we see something interesting.

  • Dolphins are just like us in the fact that they sometimes make funny faces in the mirror.

  • Amazing beings, what i shame they are fished for and killed.

  • I've got a gold and blue macaw. Occasionally I'll take her to the bathroom and let her view us in the large mirror.

Now, I'm not entirely sure what her thought process is, but here's what happens:

As soon as I enter the bathroom, her eyes dilate. She will gasp her name and say "hello".I doubt she knows what her name signifies, nor that "hello"'s a greeting, but I find it interesting that she uses these two (as opposed to "uh oh","bye bye",or my name or my sister's name),all of which she knows.

  • @ninjaguyYT Sorry for the weird spacing in my previous post; ran out of characters and had to make room. I want to mention that she rarely talks in 'human language' when people are nearby. She tends to speak when we're downstairs or sleeping. Some sort of shyness issue, I suppose. But when the mirror's out, she tends to talk to her reflection. She also dances a lot while staring at herself and tends to bite me more often.

Not sure what she's thinking, but her behavior's surely different.

  • @ninjaguyYT she knows what she's saying... google "Alex African grey parrot" and you will have new respect for your own bird ;)

  • @twomblypublishing

Ah yes, I'm aware of Alex and Einstein (I saw Alex years ago on Guinness's Records on TV). But they're exceptional specimens of parrots; most aren't that smart. And here's the thing: I don't think they know what they're saying. Like... someone could ask a child, what does "mc squared equal?" and they might know that it's E. But does simply giving the right answer to something automatically mean intelligence?

  • @ninjaguyYT (cont)

I mean, maybe I'm wrong. Babies also babble on and occasionally use the correct words (when seeing "mommy", the baby might say "mommy!"; but more often than not, mommy will be said towards any human she sees). I don't know. I mean I love my bird, but I still believe that she has no idea what anything she says actually means. The way I see it: even though she sadly says "Byebye" when we leave, she probably thinks it's a sound she's 'supposed' to make when we leave.

  • @ninjaguyYT Mc squared equals E ??

  • @twomblypublishing

Correct. Most children in middle school/elementary school (at least back when I was that age; kids these days seem to be getting dumber) 'knew' that E = mc^2. However, none of us really knew that it meant energy = (mass) multiplied by (the speed of light, squared).

So just because they knew the correct formula, it didn't necessarily mean they were intelligent; just like my bird 'gives correct replies' to certain stuff without (probably) knowing it.

  • Wh.. what's that there.. why.. it's me! WASSSSAAAAAAAAP?!

  • As an owner of a dog, I can say that he frequently looks into the mirror. At first he thought it was another dog but after a while he figured out it was himself. Dogs and cats aren't stupid.

  • I don't really agree with what she said around 4:32. Just because a species is more charismatic does not mean it deserves more conservation efforts than a species that is less charismatic or intelligent relative to humans, etc. All wildlife has intrinsic value.

  • YO

If you like dolphins watch 'THE COVE'. Its a movie made in '09 that deals with the BRUTAL GENOCIDE in japan of these beautiful and intelligent beings. The people of japan are vastly unaware of this tragedy that unfolds every year because of media censorship and propaganda distributed by the japanese gov. we need to spread the msg! You can sign the petition by texting DOLPHIN to 44144 or visit takepart. com/thecove.

If you are a standup person, give thumbs up, spread this...dont spam it! plz

  • 2:54 "Who's that good looking dolphin"

  • awwwww!!!

    *dolphins looking at the mirror*

    TO much cuteness AWWWW

  • the dolphin looks so cute at 2:02

  • Give a dolphin a camera : Nature's CamWhores haha

  • Just put chicken and cow in the water and wait a few million years and they will be as intelligent.

  • I WANNA BE A FUCKING DOLPHIN!!!!

  • @karindi1 LMAO!!!

  • @karindi1 Yup. Dolphins are the most awesome things in the ocean.

  • @karindi1 ME TOO!!!!

  • Dolphins are going to take over the world

  • Dolphin in front of mirror: "You're one handsome bastard."

  • They are sooooo cute :) They seem to be really amused seeing themselves. They're thinking "That's great! I haven't know how adorable I am Now I know why people like to watch me so much! I wish I had a mirror before! Now you people may go fuck yourself. I gonna make a show for myself only."

  • Dolphin: Awesome its me!

    Dolphin: :D

  • AHAHAHA @kriSongs

  • I suddenly realise how cute dolphins actually are.

  • Animals have curiousity too.

  • what if shark where like dolphins? :D

    that would be awesome :D

  • i would sit by that window and watch them all day long

  • Comment removed

  • its so cute when the one dolphin comes up and looks at itself upside down! how adorablee <3

  • Dolphins are highly spiritual extra terrastials incarnated from Sirius B.

Sirius B is a water planet in a higher frequency which is why they chosen to live on earth in the ocean as dolphins and whales.

In the ocean, there are many natural energy vortexes and portals and dolphins influence and reinforce these energies.

The meaning of life is to have love in your heart

  • @dAt3q wtf are you going on about

  • of course the dolphins can see through the mirror; it's called sonar dûh

  • @TheQedqubit Hmm, you took a good hit, but missed. Ultrasonic works bad with silicon materials. Even if the vibrations can go through, it will never response back.

Do you know why many dolphin/whale pools are so wide?

  • The first time that dolphin saw itself, possibly a moment of self realization.

  • hahaha wen dem ugly ass dolphins look at themselves, they die of look uglyness

  • Dolphins have been known to rape other species and torture :) (really true, google it)

  • I love animals. Humans can help animals. We show empathy for others not even of the same species. I want to help them somehow.

  • I never realized how freakin' adorable dolphins are.

  • So.. how long till we can put lazorz onz zem?

  • If we say we respect dolphins, we leave them alone in the sea. The ocean is their home, not the pools you put them into, in order to gain a few dollars!!!

  • apart from the dolphin, its pretty stupid to think that rseeing oneself in a mirror is the only way of proving self-image. A bat has no use for mirror images, it must be able to seperate its own sound from those of other bats. A dog has no use of mirrors either, its a smell creature, and will have a sense of self based on that. Any dog knows his smell from those of other dogs. That requires a concept of self.

  • sooooooooooooo cuteee <3

  • @ArnellaBieber09 I know :3

  • I smiled the whole way through.

  • better start learning dolphin language because everyone knows what is gonna happen

  • and lez be onist

  • Most young cats look at mirrors.

It's only when they get older that they ignore it, once they figure out it's just a reflection.

  • Yeah, let's just shove this beautiful, intelligent animal into a glass bowl for peoples' amusement.... That's not depressing at all. -.- People disgust me.

  • What do you mean cats never look in the mirror or get interested by their own reflection? This woman clearly knows nothing about cats.

  • lol, if dolphins had opposable thumbs, we might be in for some competition!

  • The elephant touch the mark with his/her trunk. Wow, they didn't see that? These are not good researchers.

  • How bullshit. I've seen plenty of dogs and cats that looks at mirrors and pay attention to them. They even attack the mirror and bark at it and stuff like that, thinking it's another dog, cat.

  • @FireStormBaller thats basically what they were saying. animals like dogs and cats usually dont care about the mirror and if they do, they think its another cat or dog.. they dont recognize that its THEM. only smarter animals do that

  • @Punkette151617 No, they say that the dogs and cats would just walk pass the mirror and not even acknowledge it.

  • @FireStormBaller either way, even if cats/dogs DO acknowledge the mirror at all it still shows they are pretty stupid because they dont realize its them in the mirror.

  • @Punkette151617 That's not stupid. Stupid is when humans think another human didn't say dogs and cats doesn't acknowledge the mirror when they did say it. Stupid is when people claims themselves as researchers and state that dogs and cats doesn't acknowledge the mirror when they clearly do.

  • @FireStormBaller lol dude quit trolling a dolphin video its really sad. Maybe they meant they don't acknowledge the mirror like humans/primates/dolphins and other intelligent species do. Either way we can both agree your dumbass dog isn't as smart as a dolphin the end.

  • @Punkette151617 I'm not trolling. No, they didn't meant that, they clearly said they'll just walk pass by and say they won't acknowledge it at all. What intelligent? That researchers doesn't even know that dogs and cat won't just walk by a mirror? If that's intelligent, than a rock must be a genius. Now as you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic to show exactly how retarded you are, and that you're not intelligent at all.

  • @Punkette151617 Hey, at least my dog knows that it is acknowledging what it's acknowledging.

  • We're no longer at the top of the food chain?

  • @isunktheship

Give it a few million years and there'll probably be another super race.

  • "explored themselves"

  • Aww dolphins are adorable.

But they deserve to be free, swimming in the ocea... really....

  • @daanicloseup96 It's sad, that captive is the only way to avoid getting extinction from whaling. Look out for Japanese too.

  • Awh haha that's soo funny!

  • Playful, sociable and oh so tasty.

  • @zybch I bet sharks say the same thing about us.

  • lol sooooooooooooooooo cute

  • Dear God...how great is your name : ) I love you more and more every day.

  • lol, Next Step: Lets get Dolphins on Dailybooth to take pictures of themself everyday.

  • OMG thank you for share this is a wonderful research.

  • OMG wonderful report love it, thank you for share this Scientific information, this dolphins are really smart.

  • Nearly 100 years of evolution difference....it seems as intelligence as a consequence of evolution is rather common

  • they're smarter than your average nigger. i know that.

  • 1:48-1:52 AWMIGHAD!

  • dolphin: Whos that handsome bitch in the mirror? LOL

  • OH u hansom bastard XD

  • They're not smiling you dumb bitch. Dolphines kept trapped are go through serious depression!

  • Hey guys, guys, no guys look at this, look at this guys, guys ITS ME!!!

  • Wrong wrong wrong! Dolphins in captivity IS WRONG!

  • After watching this video, I wonder if Asians are actually a self-aware and intelligent race too.

  • @creamie123 ...what's that suppose to imply? Is this another one of those 'Oh, because the japanese eat dolphins that means ALL asians eat dolphins.'

  • @chocchipfox Simple logic my friend:

Everything that eats dolphins are Asians.

    Some people eat dolphins.

Therefore who eat dolphins are Asians.

I don't see any flaw in the logic here ...

  • Comment removed

  • @creamie123 Actually, your logic is flawed. The type of argument you are trying to make is as follows:

    all A's are B's

    All B's are C's

    Therefore, All A's are C's.

That is fairly simple logic, and any argument following that pattern could be considered truth providing that all premises are assumed true. The problem with your logic is that it follows as such:

    All A's are B's

    Some C's are B's

    Therefore all C's are A's

    See the flaw?

  • @thisisbutterfly Nothing wrong really.

At least 1 Asian eats Dolphins.

    Therefore Asians eat dolphins.

Everything that are eaten by the Asians who eat dolphins are Asians.

Therefore everything that eats dolphins are Asians.

  • @creamie123 Which again follows,

Everything that eat dolphins are Asians (proved).

    Some people eat dolphins.

Therefore those who eat dolphins are Asians (who eat dolphins).

    Proved!

  • @creamie123 It's just like saying that a cart contains oranges because it has at least 1 orange. Having 10 or 1000 oranges does not make it a cart that is not a cart that contains oranges. So if 1 person eats dolphins in the Asian countries, then the Asian country people eat dolphins, we do not need 10 people to prove it.

  • We need to treat ALL animals with respect and NOT just the smart ones...

  • @tokega Huh, that is exactly what my mother said to the doctors when I was born.

  • @tokega I do not need to treat a cock roach with respect...

  • @cannonridge216 Yes you do. All life is worth the same :-)

  • @tokega Bacteria are alive. So are your body cells. So is everything you eat. Is your diet worth as much as you are? Would you be as happy eating a human as eating a fruit? No, of course not. Life was not evolved to have the same worth, and even at the most basic level does not have equal value.

  • @tokega what about ants, roaches, fleas, ticks, mosquitos and other pests?

  • I never look at dolphins the same way after learning they're kind of assholes. But this is still kinda cute

  • I'm supposed to study for my test, but this is too freaking adorable to resist xD

  • OMG THEY'RE SO INTELLECTUALLY CUTE

  • Their intelligence rivals ours? Kill them ._.

  • @MrVinkic How about kill you too? Cunt. I played with dolphins before. They are smart, COMPLETELY. But, they are also friendly. I swear those dolphins I played with loved me, because they sure did NOT want me to leave. Kill Beautiful animals like this, and then why not point that .357 Revolver at your head, while you're at it.

  • Those dolphins that get put into aquariums are bought from Tigi, Japan in the cove where they slaughter dolphins. They're very sensitive to sound and being in a stadium full of screaming people stresses them out which eventually leads to their suicide. They may look happy, but most of the time they're not. Please help spread awareness, if you've ever watched 'The Cove' you'd understand.

  • teach one how to paint then give it a calculator and teach it calculas

  • She looks like Chelsea Handler!

  • lol i died at 3:44 and i love how the other one is just looking at him xD

  • Am I the only one thinking "so long and thanks for all the fish"? XD

  • In the begining it looked like they were saying wow

  • 7 dumb animals disliked this...

  • I hate the fact that she whispers..is like when you go: (whispers)why are you talking like that? (whispers)I don't know, you started whispering...and then both laugh.

  • They're so intelligent. They're only a few generations away from using the mirror to take sexy photos of themselves.

  • @southefritelien Your comment made me laugh hard. Its really funny to see what "religion" does to the people.. and you gotta ask yourself how the fuck can someone but dumb to still belive in such "fairy tales". I wonder what's gonna happend when they finaly prove that there's life on other planets. Then all those who belive in the god will be like "ow you know, god created other planets n creatures there aswell, and these creatures are made on his image just like we are". Fucking grow up allrdy.

  • @southefritelien It's people like you who make me want to punch Bible-thumpers in the face.

Watch the f*cking video and enjoy the dolphins. That's all you have to do!

Don't bring religion into this! It's an animal video! Take it for face value like the dolphins are, and smile!

  • @southefritelien "95 million years"

I thought you religious fuckheads still believe that the Earth is only 6000 years old?

  • Does this mean we should give a higher priority to the conservation of smarter animals the less smart ones? Why?

  • pulling silly faces

  • So Long, and thanks for all the fish!!!

  • 0:35 " give to me, give to me"

  • geez, people turn everything into an mindless battle of egos. That should tell us all about the so-called intelligence of humans. People, shut up and enjoy this heartwarming video and thank God dolphins are not humans.

  • 1:49 - :D

  • LMAO they're just so fascinated with themselves xD

  • I want one as a pet. LOL :)

  • Narcissism...its not just for humans anymore.

  • Asians kill all the dolphins? What's that suppose to mean thick headed American?

  • @bennysupertramp2 you mean the japanese?
