  • Great rendition of a great song,I first heard this by Woody, but he and Leadbelly were friends and both excellent songwriters,so they musta swapped some stories,I'm sure. Thanks alot for this, by the way, it's back on by Ry

  • Long time ago i;ve the lyrics in a songbook under the name Huddie Leadbetter but i've never heard him doin this one on a records (i have 4 Leadbelly cd's but I still haven;t found his version .( I've heard and learned the Vigilante man from a Cooder- record )

  • Excellent plaing and singing FIVESTARS! I didnt know Huddie wrote it I always thought it was Woody Guthrie. I have yet to find the recording of huddie doin it.

  • I first heard this by woodie! so I'm biased, I think it suits his flat nasal mid western voice, not taking anything away from this interpretation, way cool!!
