So contrails, huh? Ice crystals? You ever been to Texas in July??? The only 'ice crystals' at any altitude where planes fly is the ice in the margarita glasses in first class. Also, if this theory were true, ALL of the planes would make contrails, and as I live in the flight path of DFW airport we would never see a blue sky! Peoples' inability to think for themselves just never ceases to amaze me.

The scientific fact is that the rate at which contrails dissipate is highly dependent on the atmospheric conditions and temperature above -and- below.
