why did they make the movie if there was this episode?

@RiseAboveHate11 The movie was made first when filming some of the last episodes of season 2. Since Fox owned the rights to the movie, many of the costumes and character names that were original to the movie couldn't be carried over to the Saban-owned show. So season 3 had to adapt the Japanese footage instead, therefore making the movie out of continuity with the series.

One thing I didn't like about how the series handled the introduction of the ninja powers was that it felt rushed. The movie verison was so much better and seemed more dangerous for the rangers.

I prefer them in the ninja suits when they don't have their hoods on. That's one of the things I disliked about the TV version of them as opposed to the non-canonical movie.
