  • Thanks a bunch , I'm trying to build one this weekend

  • you r epic thanx!

  • John, do you have a follow-up to this video that shows the pumpkins ready to harvest? That is so cool - I am always inspired by your creative genius, which is a nice complement to your ever-growing gardening skills! ~Karen

  • Oops - never mind, John - I did some searching, and I found it! Wow, those seeds look so yummy! I'm definitely adding kakai pumpkins to my list of things to grow - I can't wait! I always get so hungry when I watch your videos, but unfortunately, I don't have all the yummy options you do LOL.

  • Don't think I filmed a harvest video. I do have a few episodes showing them growing, and the last kakai video I did I show a pumpkin that was harvested from the trellis.

  • I ordered some seeds recently, but what I really want to know is...ARE THE PUMPKINS THEMSELVES EDIBLE? I can't seem to find any information as to the flesh of the pumpkin itself except that one reference says it's 'stringy.' You're the man to ask. :) Thank you.

  • Yes, the kakai pumpkin flesh is edible.

  • John, you are my favorite youtuber! I'm growing all my own food as a result of stumbling across your videos!

  • what do u have on your feet? they look so cool.. your toes look like they fit in like in a glove.. please say where u got them from ta

  • @sky6553 They are called barefoot shoes, made by Vibram.

  • I found a dealer for the azomite! he does house calls too : ) just got my first rain storm and the plants are going ballistic! Thanks John

  • nice job. why not just call another home depot or lowes rather ripping?. i have built trellis with those 1.5x 1.5. $2, homepot charges 3.00 where i live. they are good for making cold frames look better than pvc. before sinking into soil you should have used linseed oil and stained the bottom to avoid rot. to speed it up you can use a heavy duty stapler or nail gun if you have. a nail gun and you can get it done in no time.

  • Where did you pick up the seeds or starts? I recently discovered pepitas and love them.

  • I got the starts from senk farms. I wonder if the ones from the health food store would sprout??

  • good job, John how did u stablize your trellis in your garden bed. What did u use to keep them standing? i know u didn't use cement.

  • They are each sunk in the bed about 2 to 2.5 feet. they are fairly stable. I mean to tie them together, and they will be more stable.

  • Hi John, tidy work. Just a thought - as well as closing the end of the trellises in it might be worth considering some method of stabilising the whole affair at each end because, when the pumpkins grow, that trellis will be like a big sail.

Also, good idea with the boxes.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.

  • you present well and have good info.Thank you

  • I am going to report you to the Post Office. On second thought, I think I am going to go to the Post Office personally and get some boxes. Thanks!

  • great idea ha ha. my tapemeasure is now in the bin

  • nice job John. looks clean and slick. good luck with the pumpkins.

  • I sure hope the redwoods they use to make lumber are grown for lumber.

  • @martenfisher1 even if they are they are probably GM and that is arguably worse than deforesting

  • Love the trellis!

  • love the shoes. lol. =D

  • i call those my hyper crazy pumpkins. They go all over the place; up and over things and latch on to anything.

  • You are motivating and happy in all your video's! Make's me smile!

  • Great work! Looks really nice. I hope those pumpkins grow well and abundantly. :D
