  • Comment removed

  • @KeiichiKei if you want a workout just man up and go for a run...yoga helps improve flexibility and balance, and can also help you activate smaller muscles that are normally unused during serious workouts

Don't expect yoga alone to suffice as a workout, its just part of the equation

  • I can't believe i just did that. Thank you for the videos!

  • that looks like it hurts

  • yeah we have someone from the netherlands right here!

  • great vedio thx.

  • Dank je vel dat was heel goed!

  • i do not believe this is what this video is for, but it has improved my sloppy posture. gets an A+ from me. i used to have severe back pain from sports and bad posture and now i can sit up straight with no pain, no straining, no wincing.

  • M.I.L.F

  • I have never tried this, but on first view.. It doesnt look like something that will build any strength or size tbh. I lift weights, and this is more something i would do to warm up/cool down. Granted I have still to try this. I will reply again, when I have done it :)

  • fantastic tutorial, except for the execution of the stork, a little inflexible hamstrings

  • She does explain at the end that you should BUILD UP to 6 times, yes, in a row. So start with 1 or 2 one day, then the next day add 1 ... etc....

  • hi,

i did a lot of strength workouts and my legs are now very muscular with a little fat on top...i'm going to start eating right again and doing yoga for my legs every night...will this help? i want slim legs..not muscular.

  • this is okay, but the title is misleading. sadie nardini has

    an awesome video for legs.

  • do you need to have a mat , or can you do it on carpeted area ?

  • sorry,, wrong term. i mean,, i really have big thighs/legs.. can i cut out the fats/muscles?

  • can this vid make my legs to become small?

  • @gsel1213 I hope not !

  • @yogatic will is add tone to my legs?

  • @yogatic

will this help in making my legs /calves big...my legs below my knees are skinny. will it help make them big

    kindly let me know

  • @beauyclint

    No..

Do squats, deadlifts, and calf raises, with HEAVY weight. Something that will make you fail in 10 reps or less. And eat enough to fuel muscle growth.

  • @yogatic I think he ment firm, slim, fit.

  • @gsel1213 stronger and tonned for sure!

  • @gsel1213 It can make your legs bigger...

  • @gsel1213 would you like the swap

  • I really love this sequence! May I say though that a "Legs" routine for me isn't complete without Eagle pose! :) Your instruction is so fresh...Thanks!

  • will this bulk up my calves ?

  • Yeahh sure. Before you know it they will double in size. And most probably your ass too. Not to talk of your fingers and toes. They will triple in both size and numbers. So beware. Think before you act!

  • makes me feel good

  • Yoga for KILLERS??? Not a good sign!

  • @tygesh no for beuatiful "killer" legs lol

  • im aroused

  • my legs almost gave out during this video!!!!

    shes AWESOME!!!!

    GO YOGA!!!

  • 1:48 is so peaceful =)

  • It made me feel so calm, relaxed, and amazing after did it! You're an amazing teacher :)

  • lovely teacher!

  • I lovee yoga. The results are great. Imean, look at this women....she's gorgeous! Nice video

  • Don't get me wrong. I am not dissing Yoga. It's awesome. Everyone should do it. The benfits are wonderful. You should do a search on youtube for "Scott Sonnen Threading Scorpion Bridge".....incredible stuff.....:)

  • Hard indeed!

  • well it is a fact that toned muscle is stronger than untoned muscle. So women in general may prefer the stronger toned look, than the stronger man muscles of quantity(ie, bulk).

  • Spoken like a true "Dude" who knows nothing of flexibility and endurance.

  • Way to assume what I know. I have spent 25 years in fitness and I've done Brazillian Jiu Jitsu for 7 years so I know a little about flexibility. The correct order for making the quickest gains in flexibility is: warm up (10 min) static, dynamic, ballistic, PNF (look it up if you don't know that one). And "endurance" is a relative term. Muscular endurance is still built off a base of strength. Same with power and power endurance. This will do little to nothing for strength.

  • As I said yoga is great for your health and certainly has it's place but it will not make you very strong. And I suggest you thoroughly understand what endurance means and how you get specific types of endurance before you tell me I don't know what it is. Spoken like a true "chick" who assumes I don't train my flexibilty and endurance or have a good understanding of those traits because I am a "dude".

  • bs!

  • That's a great respose. Try posting some legitimate scientific evidence for your point next time......

  • @SCROGY 25 years in fitness? 7 years in Jiu Jitsu? Did you not learn anything in that time? or do you just have selective memory? yoga does help build strength and power, but it has more of a focus on flexibility and endurance. Go try Fire Fly pose or Scorpion Pose, Although a lot of the weight is on your arms. but keeping your legs in those postions takes a lot, So don't say yoga doesn't build strength,

  • Yes I did and I suggest you read Tudor Bompas "Periodization Training For Sports". Power comes from dynamic effort or plyometric training. You develop power by moving explosively or moving the weights quickly. Yoga is innefective for power development. Power is built from a base of max strength, and max strength comes from working with 85-100% of your one rep max. Yoga does almost nothing for strength. Sure you're stronger than if you are doing NOTHING at all. But strength is relative.

  • I would be stronger from doing yoga than say doing no exercise at all, but that's about it. My point was that yoga is a poor choice for strength training. If you want strength do resistance training that combines max effort with dynamic effort and yoga for flexibility and well being. Yoga does not make you very strong, unless by strong you mean "stronger than someone who does no resistance training". You want STRONG legs? Squat more, with 85%+ of your one rep max for less than 5 reps.

  • @SCROGY I do agree with you that yoga will not make you very strong especially compared to the exercises you are referring to. I am mostly referring to the comment that you posted of " This will do little to nothing for strength" The positions described in the video may not contain weights or dynamic movements, But the positions demonstrated will put enough stress on your muscles to pose a challenge to even the most active person. Allowing their Max reps and strength to improve more.

  • Not really. This is going to do almost nothing to improve your max strength because it isn't going to place enough tension on the muscle fibers nor will it be near enough to your max effort to have any effect. Yoga is great for many reasons. Just not for making you "strong". I have thought about doing Yoga classes, but I would not delude myself into thinking it is going to have any real effect on my ORM. For body awareness and flexibility it's great.

  • we undestand that you're not in to yoga, and prefer other forms of work outs. But just let us do the workout. Don't bother to comment anymore please. It's rather annoying...

  • @SCROGY It helps build a strong foundation for any exercise that you plan to do. Max rep training will help increase your power and give you strong muscles, but it is only temporary, Yoga will allow you to train your muscles to endure more then what they already can do. The more endurance your muscles have the more they will allow you to increase your max rep even if it is by a little

  • Except there are better methods for training muscular endurance. Periodization Training For Sports gives the protocols for training power endurance and it always starts with a period of max strength training. Training at 85-100% ORM is the foundation for power-endurance. Not the other way around.

  • @SCROGY Yoga may not be the most ideal to get those kind of results that you are referring to, but they still give you results. As you stated that you thought of doing yoga but didn't. You can't simply say something is useless if you your self haven't experienced it first hand. So how would you know if it has any effect on your ORM. Even if you only add 1% improvement to your over all physical capabilities any improvement is better then nothing. When competing a little bit can mean win or lose

  • I should clear up that I do yoga exercises but have not taken a formal class (I do some of Scott Sonnens stuff). I can say that it is true because the top authorities on the planet say it is not practical: Tudor Bompa, Mark Rippetoe, Jamie Hale, Dr Hadfield etc. Anyway, did you check out Sonnens stuff? That advanced Scorpion is insane.....:P

  • @SCROGY I checked it out. Some pretty Impressive stuff, especially to maintain proper form with fluid motions

  • Excelente!!!

  • omg this is hard!

  • help~ i can't even touch my feet~ help! i want my legs to stretch and be slim, you know some yoga for a slim hips???

  • Slim legs? You have to lose fat and gain muscles - that's the only way it works. Stretching won't help you do that.

  • does this make your legs slimmer? or muscular like? :o

  • Slimmer, doing any kinda yoga aint gonna build muscle - just tone.

  • Good simple standing poses sequences.

  • Thanks a lot for your help!

  • repeat 6 times? Over what course of time - per week? OR repeat that sequence 6 times everyday...??

  • you can repeat it 6 times in a row, everyday, if you want to really work yourself. However build it up intelligently, maybe add one everyday till you are at 6. One time everyday is good too, there is no rule, it just depends on what you want.

  • this is awesome - thank you E.

  • can this lengthen our legs?

  • no...it can trim them...length is genetically decided

  • Did you seriously ask that?

  • i thank you~~ so much!!!

  • I like your videos. You give excellent detailed instruction where we can follow every aspect of the pose/stretch. Thank you for your work!

  • Your videos are brilliant! :)

  • i hope this works.... im allways having back pains especially when i excercise. i cant even broom my room with out a 5 min break, and im only 18... n doctors say i dnt hve nothing, so im going ti see if this helps

  • will this give me jennifer aniston legs

  • NO. Jennifer Anniston has Jennifer Anniston's legs.

  • I do kickboxing and my instructor told me i need to build muscle and work a little on my flexibility so i want to try yoga because i was told it helps and i don't want to look to 'manly'. i suscribed because your videos look great!

  • errm yea, why?

  • what the hell??

  • me gust,o mucho tu video

  • any different angles on this? hehehehe

  • One of my recommendations for amazing legs is: jump swats.

Doing about 10~20 reps or even more everyday can dramatically tone your leg muscles, and create lean-looking legs.

  • But wouldnt this tone your calfs not your thighs?

  • I'm 16 and have loose ligaments in my shoulder (my doctor advised I do yoga for that and my anxiety) and very thin legs, my back feels better after doing this once, I've subscribed.

  • THANK YOU ESTHER! I LOVE IT, every exercise you give us really streches all of the muscles but this one really helped my back! I am beginning to see that girl I used to be again! And she is beautiful, Thanks Esther! Lots of Love!

  • You are doing a great job...how old are u pls?

  • :O what the...

  • Great Videos im just starrting off :]

everytime i go to touch the floor my knees bend and i feel my musles pull (ouch) what does this mean? HAHA :D

  • don't push yourself too hard, yoga is not a competition, and just push to that good-feeling stretch. Over-doing it will make you dislike yoga and that's no good ;)

  • Is there a yoga sequence for killer arms, especially the upper arm flab? Cha, Taiwan

  • No offense, but I envy your sex partner

    =O

  • Oh god when you did warrior 2 and sank down do you leg was an 90 degree angle I felt the burn just watch.

  • Great Video! You have a wonderfult teaching style and great form!! It also helps that you are gorgeous. :-)

  • i tried this, it's really not that difficulf for me.

i'm not against it, i just don't see how it makes your muscles more toned. hmmm

  • i'm skinny on the upper half but since i'

ve started running on the treadmill my legs are getting bigger! Will this help me to get skinny legs??
