I've never seen a player block so many shots on the way down the way Jordan did. Most blocked shots, you see the defender study the offensive player, wait for him to commit to the shot, then jump to block it. Jordan had the knack to jump first, then watch the ball in mid-air, then follow it on the way down and still knock it away.

To be fair, Bowie was a decent player and hindsight is 20/20 vision. Jordan might not have been successful in portland and since they already had clyde drexler, there was no need for a shooting guard. Bowie was a decent center but he just got injured early on and never recovered.
