Why is it that so many Gay people think that being Gay is one of the most important things about themselves? I think it is confusing and sends a mixed message. Personally I don't think it is a big deal but it seems to be the single most defining factor with a large percentatge of the Gay community. They can't have it both ways. If they want to be accepted by the world like it is no big deal, they need to quit acting like it is such a big deal.They are many things first. Why the extreme focus?

i think it's different for many ppl. I'm gay, and I've noticed it as well, that many gay ppl make a huge deal of their sexuality, but as I said, not all of them. However I have an explanation for it: it's that sexuality is one of the most important aspects for all ppl that allows to identify itself, and many gay ppl have struggled with it to accept their sexuality and they feel somehow misunderstood by the society so maybe they try to manifest it clearly for themselves not for others

Example: for me when I smell coconut scented tanning oil, I am teleported back in time to my 1st trip to France, when I was 18. It was in the summer.
