The bass drum pattern can be used for bossa nova AND samba. However, the clave he is using is the Son Clave used in Afro-Cuban music...it is not the bossa nova clave he's trying to emulate.

It is NOT samba, however...and there are various types of samba, partido alto...batucada samba, jazz-style samba, etc.

Thats Bossanova not Samba, both have the same bass drum and hi hat pattern, but latin music is a different thing, try son montuno or guaguanco to name a few, btw improve yourself then start teaching.

It's cool that you can write music, but this is really not correct in terms of samba style. Sames goes for the other latin videos. Teachers should be experts and latin rhythm is a lot more complex than what you are showing here

Your Clave is wrong. You are playing a Son Clave, playing 2 3 instead of 2 (and) the & of 3. The ride pattern is a Bossa Nova, but a Samba pattern typically has three note groupings.

In fact the samba is played in 2/4 and you need to acent the 2 not the 1, and my friend d3theKid is right, but the correct is "Partido Alto", and this is only one kind of samba style you can also use: "Teleco Teco", "Batucada", "Bossa" and many more...
