I love this song, and I always took it as-whitney's trying 2 warn this woman cause she had a bad experience with this guy, but with deborah-things could be different. this guy and deborah could have a relationship that works out and is better than the one he had with whitney. Deborah is just standing up for herself and her man. I don't agree with the cheating, but i think things could be different the 2nd time around with deborah than with whitney.
