one of the first songs i learnt word for word as a child - very catchy - nowadays its a song that makes the man i love laugh everytime we hear it together - happy days
Love this - I have a 10 yr old Staffy mix and his fave past-times are sofa dominating and "dredging" from lakes! ;-) Hope yer not missing her too much
This song came from a time before official videos...I think it has been posted by a fan; I love the video, being a dog lover myself...Just listen to the lyrics and have a good ole laugh at life and love...:) XXX
Once again my uncle has demanded this song. I "quite" like the song, bit cheesy but the video is 50 times cheesier, verging on embarrasing. I'm soooo sorrrrrry, i'm sooo sorryyy! lol

they like the song...I'd be very surprised if, the entire 5,000 would prefer this lame clip over the original. three minutes of a dog is boring, which goes to show how well the song has held up over the years. Go Carole.
If you took the the time to read the info supplied by the poster, you would realize that she has been dog sitting and the song is a cute reference to the fact that baby sitting duties are over.
Over 5,000 people have watched and enjoyed this clip...also, up until a couple of weeks ago it was the only version on youtube...and you complain cos a nice wee dog is in it.
Love this song. Pity she seems to be under the impression that Lorna Doone is an author - oh, well, she is an American, so I suppose we mustn't expect too much - just kidding. I love her songs; she is a very underrated songwriter.
i remeber this on a single record you either got it with the plastic centres out yoou got it without and even if you had a centre in your record it still sounded as if it wasnt straight on the deck oh well thank you for the post

wow it was only from about 1977 or 78. single records weren't 'new' then...I wonder who manufactured the one you bought, because clearly it was defective.
Hey, charliemctruth: Do you not know the difference between "You're" and "Your"? The song title is supposed to read: "You're (as in You Are) Moving Out Today".
I love this song but I have some horrible memories associated with it as well. My psycho ex-girlfriend, Allison used to play this song at top volume whenever we had a fight and threaten to kick ME to the curb... god, I am so glad to be rid of that b*tch! Had any cats put to sleep lately, Allison?!
What an awesome song - I am a 40 year old fella and still get goosebumps when I hear this song. Don't care if people say I am stuck in the past, what a tuneful classic!
great tune carole bayer sager a 1 off i think it was 1976/77 when it came out memories of the rubbish strikes, power cuts, ted heath, saturday night fever.,lindsay wagner.great memories
it wasn't written by bette, it was written in collaboration with Bette. Carole used to write for and with Bette, Peter Allen, Melissa Manchester Christopher Cross, Neil Sedaka et al. Bette also released it, but Ms Bayer Sager's version was the chart topper

I just think it's a shame the original clip isn't posted. this clip is ridiculous. I remember Carole vividly singing in a booth...and
why ware we looking at a stupid dog???

bunchie1966 3 years ago
calling her 'lorna doones' can still mean her books about lorna doone, doesn't have to refer to the author. putz.

Bette Midler's version on her 1977 "Live At Last" album is my preference. She co-wrote this song with Carole.
