  • how fast is the refresh rate when using evf/lcd ?

  • wait, is this the mythbuster guy???

  • blue box lets u make free calls, made by Steve Wozniak in 70s, so now it is obsolete

  • Where did you buy it for that price?

I'm looking online and all I see is some for 600 and up.

  • @kinkybleeech I'm sorry, I got it mixed up with the E-PL2. You can get that camera for $499. The E-P2 has a much better build and definitely costs more.

  • how much. i just bought the sony nex 3. should i take it back?

  • @goneyfz It's $499 with the kit lens. I don't think there's any reason to return your Sony unless there's something about the Olympus you really like. Either camera will serve you well.

  • one more question!!! :p

whats the best 4/3 camera in ur opinion? esp. between sony NEX 3/5 vs LUMIX GF1/2 or OLYMPUS EP/EPL 1/2 ?

thank you so much for been kindly responding

  • yes, i'm aware that the EPL-1 has the pop-up built in flash, but the design doesn't impress me as much as the EP-1 or EP-2. So what im trying to ask is it still great when it comes to low light condition w/out any flash at all? or we DO have tu buy the external flash after we purchase the camera? and in ur opinion, what wud u choose? EP-1 or EP-2?

  • @chobitselectric Well, in spite of the lesser build, I prefer the E-PL1 and E-PL2 because theyre smaller and lighter. As far as *needing* a flash, it depends on your subject. I've usually been fine without one. And I would buy the E-P2 over the E-P1 - and get the EVF. I almost alwasy shoot with the EVF.

  • as far as i know it doesnt come with an internal flash nor the external one. how is the performance of this ep-2 w/out any flash? do they sell the external flash? please response to my questions, i am really interested with this baby :)

  • @chobitselectric Yes, they do sell a small external flash and I believe the larger Four Thirds DSLR flashes will work with it as well. Have you looked at the E-PL1 and E-PL2? The both have built-in pop-up flashes.

  • I just got mine, and I love it. Have to say though that the 14-42 lens is a bit ugly and cheap-feeling. That lens on the Olympus looks really retro in the promotional photos, but that's in its 'locked' position (guess they didn't want to photograph it in its 'ready to shoot' position?). All in all though, it seems to be a really well-made piece of equipment. Do yourself a favour and get the 20/1.7 Lumix lens, and you will probably not use that 14-42 again.

  • Do u have to unlock the lens everytime you take the photo/video or you can just remove the lens cap and straight away can take the photo?

  • @Millnatapol The lens locks to keep it small. But you don't have to lock it if you don't want to. If you do lock it, you will have to unlock it to take a photo.

  • Do u have to unlock the lens everytime you take the photo/video or you can just remove the lens cap and straight away can take the photo?

  • thank you.

  • hi photographyreview...can you tell me if the ep2 is better than the panasonic gf1.both in picture quality and video recording...and is the canon vixia hf10 camcoder better than the gf1 and the ep2..both picture and video recording..please let me know

  • Image quality between the cameras should be about the same as they all use the same sensor. For video, the quality from the Micro Four Thirds cameras will be better. However, a dedicated camcorder like the Canon Vixia HF10 will probably be easier to use. Still images from the Micro Four Thirds cameras are a world of difference from what any camcorder can make. It's like a Porsche compared to a Yugo.

  • Look this two HD movies from EP-2:

  • Good review, EP-2 looks cool. I saw a bit of DoF when you were recording close to the camera, what did you record the review with?

  • Thanks for the comment. I actually just got a production E-P2 in for review a few days ago. Just to keep it all in the family, I shot this video with the Olympus E-P1. So the video quality you see here is just what you can expect from the E-P2 :-)

  • I NEED THAT TOUGH GUY BLACK LOOK 4 REAL!

  • what is the price?

  • $1,099 with the electronic viewfinder and either the 14-42mm or the 17mm. Olympus is also going to be coming out with 2 new lenses for it. A 9-18mm super wide angle and a 14-150mm.

  • PhotographyREVIEW:

What camera/camcorder you used to film this video clip?

  • I actually mentioned that in the video. I shot the video with the Olympus E-P1 because the quality should be the same with the E-P2.

  • btw... can it take still photos while recording?

  • OH MY GOODNESS! I want it! how good is the HD video quality?

  • What you see is what you get. I shot this video with the E-P1 because both cameras should have the same still and video image quality

  • Yeah, the heater was a sruprise and something to keep in mind for the future. The backdrop, well - I don't think I care. It fits my crappy, half-assed style :-)

  • Kinda funny that your heater came on. lol. You need a wider back drop too (or get the camera closer). Anyway - thanks for the preview. I'm looking forward to the E-P2!
