I've got essentially what is an epicenter for the home. Audiocontrol had something for the home / pro market called the Phase Coupled Activator or PCA for short. Its basically an epicenter and a 2 way electronic crossover in a rackmount chassis. Its great. I only use it right now for the crossover but it does work well if the level of restoration is set very low...it blends well and doesnt make itself pronounced. If you crank the dial, it of course gets pretty crazy.
Its sad to see people ignorant of how an epicenter works say that its a gain controller, or it changes the boost frequency of an amp.. The epicenter uses harmonics to recreate low frequency which was cut off during recording and injects it into the audio signal resulting in more low bass, louder..
The EPIC-160 uses The Epicenters patented bass restoration circuitry, which actually adds lower octaves of bass to any performance autosound system. In addition, the EPIC-160 includes AudioControls Para-Bass equalization, which allows the user to fine-tune the bass response to their specific vehicle. The net result is more basslouder.
i have had a epic since they first came out its a must if u like low bass and have songs that have crappy bass lines or none at that .... i even know ppl who use epicenter in sq comps.... epic ftw
call me ignorant, but why do you want an epicenter? if the music is without bass, than isn't it suppose to have no bass to begin with?
subs are designed for low frequencies, and music with low frequencies. so usually bass heads and people listening to low frequency music get subs in the first place.
it's a very nice wall. nice set up all around, just not sure the purpose for this epicenter?
Well sir the purpose of an epicenter is to change the boost frequency. most amps have a preset bass boost of 1-10db at 45Hz this means anything higher or lower will not get the full 1-10db of boost becasue of frequency drop off. the epicenter gives you 1-10db of bass boost at any frequency yu desire especially if the resonant frequency of ur box is tuned low thus not making more bass but using your box more effectively, ha ha i laugh at you n00b's and yes you are ignorant!!!!!
soundstream bx-12 , audio control "the epicenter" , megabass mb1. all are digital bass enhancement devices that pump only low frequency into the voltage line . those are pretty good epicenters . i have the mb1 and 2 15 inch cvr`s in a sealed box. i was shaking my house window playing Antonio Aguilar.- anillo grabado.
The Epicenter tracks existing bass frequencies at a high sampling rate and creates an artificial fundamental at an octave below so that the existing frequencies are now treated as harmonics. When used correctly, it's an incredible tool
no thats not what an EC does. all songs have a bass line. its created by the bass guitar or kick drum thats in every piece of music. the difference is that in songs like this the bass line is really low and dosen't register. the EC amplifies this bass line and brings it up to the level that a speaker would normally play it at. if you know anything about a gain controller its not the same.
nice set up. i love fi... but i take it that the epicenter helps out a lot? im debating on getting for my 2 18" re mts. im gonna have a second battery hooked up also so i dont know if its necessary
i take it that you have no idea what you are talking about.
What does having a second battery have to do with installing an epicenter.
The epicenter is a great tool for giving your system that extra low bass. I personally own one of the older models and think that it is the best investment i have ever made in my bass.
nope. never seen anyone use an epicenter to be honest. hah, and before you say i dont know what im talking about, explain to me how it gives you more low bass ? since you know it and all..????
nvm, save your time.. i just read those comments ^^^^ hah... anyways I would say those things are a waste of money... If the songs bass cant be heard, just play another song. I mean thats what everyone else does... im sure there is a reason people dont use these things very often...
hey sounds really good bro,can you tell me what kind of mids or tweets are those next 2 your subs, thanks

@shavrolae the epicenter makes the bass deeper and smoother kinda like bass restoration
hatahurta20 8 months ago
hey whats the difference with an epicenter?
does it make the bass louder & sound cleaner?
does it make it sound better than it normally is?

hey so basically songs with no "strong bass" can be played with good louder bass using this "epicenter"
what about songs with tons of bass in them? will it distort them? or ppl just turn the epicenter with songs that have already good amount of bass?
I want to buy one for corridos and banda music.
any good brand that you recommend?

if this song wouldn't have bass, even EC couldn't do nothing. As far as I can see this is only gain contoller like some amps have
