Interesting thing about the $ symbol is that it used to indicate US with two bars inside the S. The u was cropped at the bottom. After all our gold and silver was taken away and the money became fiat debt currency the symbol was changed from double bars to a single bar indicating a debt instrument instead of a note backed with hard currency.

There is no money. You are paid by the discharge of your debt.
