@babymiczy Most of our Ableton courses are 4 weeks long and cost £325. Full details of all our courses are available at pointblankonline [dot] net/courses.
@EspritDeMusique ... pointblank is not ur typical how to make a beat sites... u actually produce and the producer/teacher help u improve YOUR work... its really something else... if u dont want to pay its up to you... i would
We think the price is a fair one, each course is taught by a professional producer, who has experience in that genre. Alongside your weekly tutorials your tutor provides 1-2-1 training where you receive bespoke, personalised feedback on your work. Therefore the time, techniques and opinion of an industry professional are incorporated into the cost, as is the research and development of our content.Take a look at the student feedback videos on our site if you have any further doubts
i just started to produce my own music with ableton some weeks ago
and i want to make some music just like that but in the instrumentracks aren´t sounds like that even the synthesizers are missing. where do you get these sounds from and how do you do these sick build ups?
very good job nice music keep going to post tutorials thx
@zizouffm Hope you are enjoying Ableton so far. This video is a great example of the standard our students reach when completing our 4 week courses and the techniques we cover.
Regarding the sounds; as far as I can tell the student has used a mixture of 3rd party plug ins, VST's from Ableton and sounds they have sampled themselves all of which are covered and encouraged on the course.
@drksecretl0ve Stay tuned and hopefully the videos will continue to inspire and inform you until you can get yourself on a course. Any questions please don't be afraid to get in touch.
@DesypherDesypher That is definitely good advice, I cannot deny that but the operative word in your comment is "try". For some hard working / self motivated / talented producers this is the best way forward; other people, however, need more guidance and to be shown what to do. Neither way is wrong they're just different, it's a matter of finding what works best for you.
@EspritDeMusique We believe the price is a fair one. Courses of this depth take significant time and resources to develop. You are also paying for the time of genuine professional producers (who have their other production and performing commitments) to anlalyse your own tracks each week and provide 1-2-1 video feedback. Investing in your own knowledge is a lot more astute then spending thousands on studio gear with no idea how to use it. I'd advise you to look at our student testamonial page.
I love to use all my pure analogue vsts (like my arp, moog and buchla modular vsts ... so much better than the old digital vsts) .... I also have a few "real - OldSkool - original" analogue synths I mix in and use like the Roland GAIA, NordLead, MicroKorg and my AKAI S900 analogue sampler. Cheers.
@cartesiaLive analogue electronics, hello! but that's ok, as most people don't understand the difference between analogue and digital electronics. obviously it's analogue modelling using computer (digital) software. microtonic is a fantastic little synth
@cartesiaLive electronic drums are always analog or samples of analog.. although its not truly analog like a 808 oscillating the drum tone, the microtonic is the same thing as that but software, like Ultrabeat for Logic Pro.
Most other drums on a computer are samples and do not offer the same kind of manipulation or sound.
Its the difference between using a sampler or a softsynth, microtonic is a softsynth for drums.
This video aims to demonstrate what is possible if you combine all the techniques taught on the Minimal Tech Pro Producer course.
On the course itself you will get a thorough explanation how to create these textures and effects through tutorial videos, extensive course notes and 1-2-1 feedback videos.
maybe a bit harsh fella, if this track is made an amateur doing an internet course (im assuming it is) it ain't that bad, i agree it needs a bit more work to get it more professional sounding, but surely its supposed to be sounding raw it was made by a student not a seasoned pro.
takin this a step further then, what would make this more professional sounding then? Would would seasoned pros be doing / not doing with this production to make it sound professional?
@britishmikey the drums are low>>(not being negative just mean they dont pound right) everything is a bit static. use dramatic for your drums. the bass on the up beat is kinda weak and plain give it some proper sub treatment lastly there arent any real dynamics everything is rather flat CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM othrwse great attmpt maybe tease in smthng with a meldy just to give it a musical element even though its minimal
@mynus303 I dont think it was intended to be some epic track. The video is showcasing what base techniques are learned for making minimal tech. Considering most of the instruments were albeton based -excluding microtonik - applying the same techniques to top notch vsti's would produce solid results.
@britishmikey the arrangement and track in general is great so it'd be mainly the dynamics ie eq, compression and mixing which you wouldn't cover in great detail on an internet course. Then of course you could send it off to a pro studio for mastering where it would be given a final "polish" of eq and multiband compression to get it banging nicely.
hi i was wondering how u made ur percussions? im a producer at making trance/electro house as you can see in my profile but i wanted to start making techouse minimal for my production. i use fl studio xxl 8 btw. ps. awesome song!!

Nice! But is it just me or does it sound like you have a little bit of artifacts due to faulty input / output buffers? Or is that in the song?

Why the EQ3 bass-kill instead of a high-pass filter?
W4RW017 7 months ago
@W4RW017
EQ3 "colorizes" sound quite a bit. I guess techno, minimal and "old schoolish" house stuff is not about perfection. So maybe that's the point.

electronic drums are not always 'analog or samples of analog'. Digital synthesis is a viable method of producing drum sounds as well!

As with all music production software packages, it will take a fair amount of time to learn how the interface works and understand the various tools.
However once you have got to grips with the basics, Ableton is commonly considered the most intuitive software to create music on.
If you are a beginner, then our Ableton Live Production Course will save you a lot of time with this initial learning process.
