  • I miss my Supervision :'( It broke a couple of years ago after 20 years!! I was soo addicted to christball hahahaha

  • Omg. I still have that...

  • the beeping and dinging noises that console makes at the end of the video

, makes me want to destroy it.

  • Thanks for posting this vid, sir. I actually had one of these as a kid, but to this day, have no clue how I came about getting it. I can't even remember what the game I had for it was like, only that I rarely played it, and like most things one owns as a kid, it ended up disappearing without a trace. (likely tossed out by the parents)

  • we didn't evolve from chimps...we evolved from grizzlies, the hair on his hands prove this

  • there was a Model 2 Supervision that was a lot smaller, removed the tilting mechanism, and made it look more like the Game Boy Pocket.

this was also a lot more popular in the UK

  • You know what they say about guys with big hands....

    They use big gloves

  • I found an old article i kept when this thing was coming out, and it compared it side by side with a gameboy and the article basically said the supervision sucks and has shitty games

  • I wonder if he has any homebrew systems, the kind that hacks make from systems, like the ben heck forums...some of those are bordering professional quality.

  • wow, i had 1 for christmas when they came out in the u.k.

  • SEX POWER MURDER AMEN

  • Got one for 10 euro's with 16 games :)

    Terrible sound btw

  • Legends Of The Temples My Childhood Thumbs up if u like it

  • Can it survive a war?

  • Thanks to ashens, many gamers know about it!

  • christ ball ^^

  • I loved that show

Man in the 90s it was so cool! I remember when the Gameboy came out! I had to have one... Look at me now, playing PS3 & Xbox 360

  • Soooo many games i had aswell GAAAAAAAAAAH!

  • I had one of those! I can't believe i sold it! O_O such an idiot... had awesome games... I still got one game though... it was a Macross for nes ripoff

  • Ashens has one!

  • you forgot to mention that the system was advertised on nickelodeon's ledgends of the hidden temple

  • one of my classmates in like 3rd grade had one of these. only now do i know what it was thanks!

  • I kinda like this system, Yes, it has a poor screen and a crummy D-Pad, but it has quirky charm and the games (though I have have a few) are mostly passable, sometimes moderately enjoyable, though certainly not great. Well, at least it's better than the Tiger Game com, but then, what isn't?

  • wait.... doesn't ashens have one of those?

  • holly crap a skip this add button!!!

  • Do you have a Game Boy Pocket

  • yesterday i find the first watara supervision in my home with 2 games :D

That's very extrange because i didn't know it until yesterday, so it's no mine

    unfortunately it not works

  • If you can find it, you should get the TV adapter for it.

  • that is the ugliest piece of shit iv ever seen

  • i got one from a op shop for $1.00 doller australian and got one game hero kid

  • hah i remember that one, my friends younger brother stole two of them and we played it till the cops showed up and took them back to the store, end of story ! :P

  • Wow, this was a prize on Legends of the Hidden Temple?! Never knew that....and I only found out about this handheld about 5 years ago.

  • AH memories. Bought one when I was a kid. Had a sport game with it. Think it still works.

  • I remember a guy in school having one of these. His mom did Avon stuff and thats where he got it from. He said that it was only available through Avon, but I have no idea if thats true or not. I remember this thing being huge back then and its just as huge as I remember.

  • Dude, you sound a LOT like Mark from Classic Game Room.

  • that thing is beat to hell hope u didnt pay more then shipping for that....

  • That was built to compete with the Gameboy, that is a joke and a half!

But the music sounds like pokemon =]

  • That was built to compete with the Gameboy, that is a joke and a half!

  • hmm woulsn't really call this a rare one... then all old ones are rare ones. This one was sold in most toystores in Denmark, it was just so bad that a lot of people have thrown them away. But there are still a lot around... I got two myself (and 2 more somewhere I can't seem to find).

  • Looks like an interesting device! another victim of the steamroller that is the Gameboy.

  • hey i own that supervision. bought mine for 50 cent... when i turn it on i see strange pixels on it like if it is broken but i'm not shure.. help me?

  • Is this 8 or 16 bit?

  • @modewr its 8 bit lol it couldn't be 16 bit

  • Wow, my first ever handheld. I don't remember much about it however both me and my cousin had received one. I remember having a soccer game on it. Sadly I left it at his house and then 3 years later I didn't even remember I had one and tried it out and it wouldn't work because my aunt tried to fix it for some reason. : (

  • Your hands are freakishly large man!

  • @Treble0096 err...thanks I guess.

  • @Treble0096 Hes probly a big guy then >_>

  • @Treble0096 lol. it's like watching the meathooks of a tony danza/ gorilla hybrid manhandle some electronics on the floor in his videos.

  • @illuminatioracle this sort of comment is what expose people. I mean, that clearly states you're jealous and not satisfied with your own body. If you shave yourself (i assume you're male) then you're a failure as a project-of-a-man. Go running back to your momma's skirt, little boy. Leave the internet for the grown ups like me and the guy in the video.

  • My papa used to have one, I played it all the time.

  • Dude.

We had one when i was younger.

  • i love the purple snakes (or gray idk) in the legends of the hidden temple

  • i have one of those for sale if some1 interested an i have about 3 games i think ^-^

  • I got one of those when I was a kid.Couldn't find a game for it anywhere.

  • I bet the person who won that thought he was getting a 'cool new gameboy' but just got screwed getting this system.

  • I used to have a brickbreaker clone for that back in the day brings back memories didnt know anyone else still had one!!

  • interesting...does that company still make games?

  • i saw this on one of ashens vids

  • I used to have one of these! But the games available were pretty bad from what I remember. The d-pad also didn't work properly a lot of the time.

  • This was one of the 3 final prizes on Legends Of The Hiddin Temple?

I'm fimiliar with that show it aired on NIck-GAS (Nickelodeon Games And Sports).

  • Watara nickel and dimed nintendo so they nickel and dimed back

  • with the parachute pants at the time, you could carry these anywhere!

  • so its a ripoff gameboy lol

  • there is actually a version of this supervision that resambles the old game boy even more, i bought that one because it was so cheap when i was young (console + 2 games for 50 bucks) and the gameboy was like 100 dollar. I think they sold lots of them so not really rare imo

  • Great review, Gamester81! I can see this handheld had a lot of potential, even to the point that they released a TV-link (Yes, it was released, but very hard to find) but it seems that lack of 3rd party support and a really blurry screen caused it to fail.

  • OH MY GOD!!!! I had this when It was released in 1992, it was marketed like you said as the Supervision here in the UK. It was total rubbish to be honest but this certainly brought back some memories :)

  • sweet jesus man your one hairy guy! on topic nice review about a little known system.

  • sooo.... nintendo copied the supervision, but the supervision was copying nintendo...

    mah hehd hurts.

  • @BowserKoopaFTW how is nintendo copying?

  • @rejectofsoul24 I heard that in the vid...

I think. "This came out 2 years before SuperGameBoy"

    Idk.

  • I remember seeing these in circa 1994 Fingerhut catalogs. They just didn't look that appealing when positioned next to the Game Boy and Game Gear handhelds on the same page.

  • Everytime i see a bad ass console in the related videos part i click on it and its allways you you luck bastard.

  • I have a Supervision with 6 games, I bought it in Spain but I bought all my games in Holland becaus i never find games in Spain

  • I wanted one of these, but it didn't stay on the stores long enough for me to get one. I certainly remember seeing one of these back in the day.

  • I already had a Game Boy, so I didn't want a Watara Supervision. It was too much like Game Boy.

  • Hey, everyone, Im currently selling one of these on Ebay right now. Give me a reply if your interested.

  • Hey im selling one on ebay right now if youre interested.

  • where did you get the supervision i want one :D

  • I bought it on ebay awhile back.

  • @Gamester81

Ebay doesn't have any now. Bummer. I want one just so I can say I have the rarest game machine on the face of the earth.

  • i remember that show on nick but...i somwhat find it odd that they would give that as a grand prize...normally most prizes given on nick shows were somthing that was in fad at that time...

also this console is very odd...as a child i always wanted a gameboy color *it had just came out* and i had many odd portable consoles that are now somwhat rare like the game and watch mario cement factory but i never knew this console existed...

  • Speaking of game shows and the Supervision, that handheld was also a prize in the Race Game on the premiere episode of the New Price is Right with Doug Davidson from 1994.

  • Gamester81, you should do an unboxing video of the supervision since you have the box.

  • I remember the show Bad Influence used to make alot of tests with this , the Gameboy , Gamegear and the Lynx :)

  • the d-pad looks like it sucks

  • Where did you get that supervision?

  • I bought it in ebay awhile back.

  • seem pretty differnt..but good vid.

  • Oh my gosh, I remember this system. My friend ordered a couple of these for his video game store I used to work in. We could'nt sell any, even though it was half the price of the Gameboy.

  • I've lost my Supervision :*(

  • me too................ :(

  • lol

The Supervision is a huge thing. Nowadays i can not imagine how i lost it :D

  • A pretty interesting system... I hope that was an old screen protector on there, and not the actual screen itself !

  • Yeah that is indeed the old screen protector still on it.

  • It's a bird...it's a plane...it's SUPERVISION!

  • the screen is equal to a gameboy pocket. yeah i do agree, biggest gameboy ripoff.

  • No way, I had a Supervision back in the day!

It looked different though... more like the original Game Boy.

  • man you have like every console in the world lol

  • Hey right on man it has been years since I have seen one of those. One of my friends had one and he let me borrow it one time. I played the hell out it! Way awesome video.

  • Nice coverage. I had one of these but sold it. Yeah, that thing was pretty big. But actually it was pretty rugged and tough for a handheld. They come up from time to time here in El Paso.

  • Where do you find this stuff? LOL I love it! Another system you've shown me for the first time.

  • Yeah i never heard of it too, its like a remake of the original gameboy.

  • Never heard of this game.Seems like it was trying to profit off of nintendo's gameboy.

  • I love these reviews! I was playing with my Odyssey 2 today. KC Munckin is so much better than Pac Man on Atari 2600.

  • I agree with you. The sequel of KC Munchin is also a very interesting game as well.

  • i used to love legends of the hidden temple. i always dreamed about getting to participate in that gameshow lol.
